I was lucky enough to go to 'Freddie Tribute' in 92,he stole the show,he was incredible. So sad!
Yeah, he was definitely one of, if not THE highlight. I remember driving home from that show and GLR played TATDOOL from earlier in the evening and thinking 'yeah, he was pretty good'.
He pretty much nailed Somebody To Love. Best live version of that song in the last 30 years I've ever heard.
Yeah, it was a great day. All of us that were there can say they featured (albeit minusculley) on a no.1 record!
Terribly sad though. Part of the 80's wallpaper was George.

What a year! David Bowie, Prince, Leonard Cohen, Rick Parfitt, George Michael, Muhammad Ali, Arnold Palmer, Pierre Boulez...
Plus Glenn Frey and two thirds of ELP.
And I'm afraid it's only going to get worse. Give it 15 or 20 years, and most of the rock stars from that 1966-76 golden age will be gone.

One song of his that hasn't had a mention is Praying For Time when it is an outstanding track with a lyric that still is relevant today.
I think the whole Listen Without Prejudice is beyond brilliant, and Praying For Time still sends chills down my spine.

Yes, a thousand times over. Just a brilliant album, and George Michael was probably the greatest phraser of his generation. Think about how an Alanis Morissette tried to fit 10 syllables into a 6 syllable stanza. George Michael never did that. IMHO opinion, voice aside, he knew how to sing, what a great loss.
