Hey everyone,
So I've been thinking, which TV station aired this documentary?
It's obvious that it was released on SOMETHING judging by the title screen, so I'm wondering where it originally came from?
I asked the same question many times and never got an answer.
Perhaps try and contact deVallance Productions (if they still exist) and see if it was ever released on VHS.
Denis deVallance himself died earlier this year.

Thanks for your help Kurgan, although unfortunately I can't seem to find any contact details for deVallance productions, I've also found the distributors; Elektra Records but the only way to contact the seems to be sending a letter to them...
Also FYI, the "Love Of My Life" mini series has been claimed to have aired on December 31st 1979 in the UK while "The Champions" was aired on December 21st 1979. Interesting!

Yes, I know about the dates.
You can draw your own conclusions as to whether an edit from ''The Champions'' documentary was in fact used on Greatest Flix.
I didn't realise that DeVallance did a fair amount of work with the band - I knew he directed Bicycle Race but he also did FBG / Love of My Life (live)/ Crazy Little Thing Called Love, directed Greatest Flix too... He was involved with a few companies including EMI in Sydney and London- he was Australian and lived in the USA. Telstar Video went into liquidation in the 90s. Champions was put out in 1980 and I can only think (as Jim Beach was involved in production) that the band / EMI (?) had decided to commission a US targeted promotional piece. I would imagine the BFI would have more info on who broadcast it in the US.... I think it got made to be able to further push the band in that territory alongside the release of The Game.
