Songs you wished they played live?
| KED528 25.05.2016 23:28 |
Forgive me if this was already posted at some point. Are there any songs you wished Queen performed more often (or at all?). I was re-listening The Game today and forgot how catchy Coming Soon was, only to be disappointed that they never performed it live. Would be curious what everyone thinks. |
| softcalavera2 25.05.2016 23:33 |
The Miracle, I think that its a great song, it would be amazing live. |
| stevelondon20 26.05.2016 01:07 |
Innuendo for me. Would be amazing live. |

I'd have loved to hear them play 'Was It All Worth It', 'Headlong', and 'Tenement Funster' with Freddie. |

Friends will be friends Father to son White queen Was it all Worth it Don t try so hard |
| Martin Packer 26.05.2016 03:15 |
Friends Will Be Friends WAS played live - between WWRY and WATC. (At least at Knebworth.) And it was an inspired linking. |
| Pim Derks 26.05.2016 03:34 |
Father To Son and White Queen were also played a lot... |
| pittrek 26.05.2016 03:49 |
I Want It All (yes, I know, QPR and QAL played it, but I'm talking about "real" Queen) The Show Must Go On (the same as above) Innuendo Ride The Wild Wind The Hitman Was It All Worth It would be a great closing number |
| Costa86 26.05.2016 04:02 |
Scandal These Are The Days of Our Lives (second to last on the setlist of this fantasy live show, about 7 songs down from Love of My Life) You Don't Fool Me (mainly for the guitar solo) |
| on my way up 26.05.2016 04:37 |
You and I Among many others :-) |
| Sebastian 26.05.2016 05:14 |
The piano ballads: Lily of the Valley, Nevermore and Jealousy. It would've been brill if they'd been on rotation with You Take My Breath Away / My Melancholy Blues and a piano version of Love of My Life. Same for acoustic ones such as Some Day One Day, Long Away (not really acoustic but you know what I mean), Who Needs You (it'd be loads of fun as an unplugged piece with two guitars and Fred and Rog on percussion). They could rotate with ''39' or 'Love of My Life' (especially since the latter one would be sometimes piano-based in this hypothetical universe). |

Nevermore |
| Oscar J 26.05.2016 06:38 |
Good suggestions. Dead on Time should be in there as well. |
| Cruella de Vil 26.05.2016 08:09 |
Here here for Dead on Time, plus Sail Away Sweet Sister, Princes of the Universe. |

Weren't NEVERMORE and ITS LATE both played live? I've got a mostly complete bootleg of Friends Will Be Friends that someone here pointed to as one of about 2 times they tried it in its entirety I think it was. ...a Leiden show. Early Magic Tour show. Anyways. I'd love to have heard (*rather likely seen on recording since I was 8 when Freddie passed) You and I Was It All Worth It The Invisible Man Rain Must Fall And of course everything from INNUENDO. It would've been great to have DELILAH as an acoustic love ballad number midway through the set |
| mr mason 26.05.2016 10:22 |
Absolutely, gotta be 'Dead on Time',this song rocks hard like a bastard! |

some songs I wish they played live is mad the swine, my fairy king, misfire, funny how love is, fight from the inside, jealousy, and polar bear |
| The Ghost of Lester Burnham 26.05.2016 17:31 |
Forgoing the obvious Miracle/Innuendo songs, because they were never going to be performed live... You And I Dead On Time Sail Away Sweet Sister Las Palabras De Amor Keep Passing The Open Windows Gimme The Prize (probably coulda worked as a Brighton Rock/Guitar Solo/Brighton Rock (reprise) thing) and the most obvious of them all – Princes Of The Universe |

It seems possible, depending on how confident he was in it not to crack I guess - the good thing about using head voice in studio is that you get as many attempts as you need.stevelondon20 wrote: Innuendo for me. Given the propensity nowadays to perform whole albums live.........dare I say Hot Space?!! It would be interesting , and would probably gain some favour over the much criticised studio production . |

The album doesn't hold up for a live performance. It's hardly even CLASSIC. I COULD imagine several SELECT shows performing A NIGHT AT THE OPERA backed the following night with A DAY AT THE RACES. .... only The new guy doesn't cut the mustard for the rock songs |

.......my suggestion was tongue in cheek, but trust me, people would have went. This is Queen we're talking about. |
| cmsdrums 28.05.2016 02:42 |
Edited: They also didn't play Las Palabras de Amor (though they did at the Freddie Tribute Concert, and later gigs). They did perform all of Hot Space live over that tour, with (I think) the exception of Dancer and Cool Cat? There are enough official and bootleg sources from which a 'Live Space' album could be put together by someone if they wanted. (I still can't believe they played Body Language live!!) |
| raucousmonster 28.05.2016 03:02 |
I'd like to have had a live version of Las Palabras de Amor. I find the studio version a bit too insipid. And live versions of I Go Crazy and Dead on Time would have been a joy to behold. |
| raucousmonster 28.05.2016 03:05 |
Oh and Dancer. Believe it or not... |

They sound better than in the studio but that's not a massive achievement. |
| Oscar J 08.06.2016 13:17 |
Yeah. Besides, if they were to perform Hot Space in its entirety, realistically they'd have to scratch other, far better songs from the setlist. |
| splicksplack 09.06.2016 04:31 |
I don't remember Las Palabras at MK but I was off my tits by Teardrop Explodes. Always thought Need Your Loving Tonight would have worked brilliantly live. With a whacked up snare on the verses and all those crash cymbals. |

I always thought if they had toured The Miracle, the beat of Breakthru building up, then a train coming through the curtain of the stage, the front of the train drops open and the band run out and do the song. It would've been an amazing opening to the gig. Oh I can dream |
| PiotreQ 18.06.2016 14:24 |
Definitely Breakthru! |

I know they already played it live a few times, and it's mentioned above, but I wasn't at any concert where they played it... And given that Brian is wearing a News Of The World T Shirt on all the pics from rehearsals I'm really hoping for It's Late on the new tour. |

Innuendo, Princes Of The Universe, Dead On Time, Too Much Love Will Kill You, You Don't Fool Me, Let Me In Your Heart Again |

Hasn't been announced and perhaps wishful thinking but would love to hear Black Magic Specialist (Baba Ji), as it's creating a real buzz on the General page |

I won't post anything past 86, for obvious reasons. The Night Comes down, Tenement Funster, In Only Seven Days |
