Hi here is an article from June 1996 from a fanzine.
It is more or less a report of the auctions which took place one month earlier.
Of course one can see the Marquee tape being mentioned, but also the track My Melancholy Baby.
I know a acetate was in the hands of some DJ of this song as well. My question is it the same as Melancholy Blues ?
See article below.

Based on the article, i believe this is a cover that Freddie did of the Jazz song "My melancholy baby" link.
Maybe it's the same kind of thing he did with the tape he gave to Jim Hutton with "Send in the clowns" and other classics played on piano. Having said this, it would be brilliant to hear Freddie actually singing this song.

Bugger My Melencholy Baby, wouldn't we all want to hear the Marquee gig from 72? Live versions of Jesus and the Night Comes Down? Drool............
Greg claimed they don't have it even though they apparently bought the tape in the auction
Does anyone else think that it may be a mistake and that it's a solo version of My Melancholy Blues. David Minns was on the scene at around the same time that News Of The World was recorded and I could easily see someone mistake Melancholy Baby for Melancholy Blues.
