Could it be considered a true reunion tour given that Steven Adler and Izzy Stradlin are still not on board... perhaps not. However, people will see it as a reunion as long as Axl and Slash are sharing the stage.
Taking into consideration Axl's nature, many had fears that this tour could be a bust. It seems like Axl has been able to keep his shit straight for the past few years, and even with his new band he was able to show up on stage on time, and not walk out midway through the set as he used to many years ago.
I will be going to the show in DC this summer, and even though they seem to have been able to set their differences aside, I won't keep my hopes up until I go to the show and see a complete finished set. We'll see what happens.
When I heard Axl injured his leg, I was expecting cancellations. I'm amazed he push through with it, even borrowed Grohl's throne for the occasion. I hope the DC gig you'll be watching will be a good one.
I think you can call it a true reunion, Adler and Izzy had left the band long before the end of the previous incarnation anyway. Duff, Slash and Axl are the stalwarts of the band. I can recommend Duff's autobiography, great read. I would give my left nut to go to one of the gigs, and that's my favourite one. Appetite is still my favourite album of all time.
G&R are over-rated: there's about 8 good songs in their whole catalogue of work. And AC/DC haven't released anything interesting since Flick of the Switch. I therefore fart in their general direction.

I'd still go and see them, if just for Estranged and Coma being on the setlist.
Both songs have been included on the past 4 dates from this tour. I remember not liking 'Coma' back when I was a kid when 'Use Your Illusion' came out because it seemed to me like a heavy metal song with a psychadelic vibe. However, over the years I grew a lot more fond of it. It's indeed one of their most bizarre and yet brilliant songs.

agreed. also think that - if CR mag's articles this month are anything to go by - then the treatment Brian has rec'd - esp as he has a medical condition - is shockingly bad.
looking more and more like Angus has gone mental.
also looks worse now that Brian's hearing issues, may not be as bad as suspected.
AXL/DC stands every chance of being as bad as those other two crap Karaoke Facsimiles: Deep Purple and Queen
