I vaguely remember reading a long time ago on Wikipedia that Wembley Stadium offered the venue free of charge for the Tribute concert. I don't see it on Wikipedia anymore. Is that right?
Second of all, I remember reading an article somewhere which claimed that when Freddie died, so many flowers had been sent from around the world that there was no space to walk outside. Is there any article where I can read more details about that time?
I also remember Classic Rock magazine celebrating Freddie's 60th birthday with a special issue. There were scans on a website, but I can't find it anymore. Could someone upload it for me?
What do you mean with "outside" ? Outside Garden Lodge - The Funeral Hall ? I've a pretty good colored shot from the funeral Hall that day...yep many flowers around with a path to the hall.
I will do an upload when I find it.
If you mean Garden Lodge...well it's an sidewalk outside...not that much flowers needed to block a sidewalk imo ;)
I think they meant at the crematorium. A lot of the flowers went onto many London HIV/AIDS charities and service providers. There were lots of flowers that ended up at the London Lighthouse in Ladbroke Grove that were from Freddie's funeral - obviously with messages removed...
