Few days ago, I read on the Polish Queen forum that Dan Lampinski has sold some of his tapes to Queen Productions but on the condition, that they will release them in a near future.
Can anyone confirm if the story above is true or someone just mixed the names ?
Here is the thread and the post mentioned by me -> link
I think that they mixed it with the story of obtaining a reel-to-reel tape of a Marquee 72' gig.
1) Is there a reason to believe that Dan Lampinski taped more than the 2 Queen shows we already have?
2) What's the chance he will give a part of his collection to some random guys who digitize it and share it for free, and a different part of his collection he'll sell to a company?
3) Who gives him the right to ask something like that ?
4) QPL don't buy audience tapes and/or film, but the truth is they've done so in the past.
I think he only has Boston 1980 left Queen wise and he's not happy with the quality. Either way he ain't selling his tapes and Queen ain't buying them.
Wow, that would be tremendous to hear. If he's not happy with the quality then by his standards it may be VG+ but by ours it could be EX-. We will only know if he is willing to share it.

I've spoken to the guys about this, and they have said numerous times that they only taped Providence 74 and Boston 76, both of which are out there. Dan says he saw Queen in 1977 but didn't tape them, as he didn't like the direction their music was going. And he never saw them again.
When did you hear about the 80 show, and from whom?

Which Boston 77 show was it? 2/9 or 11/12? Either way its a shame because a NOTW Tour audience tape in 1976/01/30 quality is something I think a lot of us would desperately want.

I thought I read it on dime in one of the upload threads, could be wrong though, looks like I might be.

He saw 2-9.
And luckily there's an excellent tape of that one.
"Throw me a towel because I'm a-blowin' my goo" said someone (in all caps) on Dime who saw the show and was that thrilled that the tape finally got out there after 30+ years. Possibly the greatest internet post ever.
