wasn't this a school photograph sourced in a recent documentary where some never before seen video had come up from a friend of his? (run on sentence).... it's not a band, right? it's just a bunch of classmates...
It's one of the photos from the Queen, On Camera, Off Guard book. By coincidence I was looking at the same photo yesterday in a shop. Very nice looking book and it was only £4.
Taken by Paul Humberstone I think. Old friend and photographer of the band. He also took the now famous picture of Freddie in the same white top strumming the guitar in his flat. He's a friend of my uncle and I went down with him to the opening of the Freddie Mercury Photographic Exhibition back in 1996 where he had a fair few photos on display.

Reply from Paul Humberstone:
Hi matthew this one is easy. I did take these photos and there were about 10 pictures I took when Fred did his fist public performance with a band called ibex - 3 heavy rock lads from Liverpool. The performance was in August 1969 at the Octagon Theatre, Bolton. The people in the pictures are mainly band members and friends the whole lot of went up in a luton bodied ford transit van. There are more in the book with my photos called 'queen on camera unguarded' Hope that's sorts that one out. All the best, Paul.
