Check out this updated version here! http://www.queenconcerts.com/queenzone/1458138.html -Chin EDIT: Paris 28/2/1979: We Will Rock You fix: https://mega.nz/#!m9EgSDjY!NpSe594iXc8eh2Lgw4gGKJmNyIQdBsGul-EolGeL24c --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This is the new version that I've worked on, what I've done is edited on a better computer so that everything is more precise. I fixed the aspect ratio and exported all videos in 720p 60fps. I've found a lot more footage from DOTL in Tokyo 25/4, fixed TYMD from Tokyo 25/4 as it contained Paris 1/3 audio & footage, fixed Dreamers Ball from Tokyo 25/4, I synced better audio parts to the footage, and overall just general tweaks and fixes. Side note, for GSTQ from Paris 1/3, I had to use audience source audio from the 28/2 concert as the audience source from the 3 third night cuts out. The same warnings apply that clips from Rare Live have been used in this "compilation". I will leave the old links active, just in case. :P Paris 1979 27/2/1979: https://mega.nz/#!v5lTWY6R!COkY3Piml_LCOWNv2ZqayNEMPaGtqSjsljBnxvJxo0w 28/2/1979: https://mega.nz/#!e0EmWTyA!z4w0bOYa6bbmzYHlM-vQ5Sw0wXKvvwt8YJy__Thua88 1/3/1979: https://mega.nz/#!C5dDSCRC!90zB1wlDF6v3P4qh7VrBJ75A9s91_d9i-gZaM3QHIv4 Tokyo 1979 24/4/1979: https://mega.nz/#!K9FUCJYI!VYrbc4oufdoCfBkuy4rZ39PN2MEAfinn22xkL4sAx94 25/4/1979: https://mega.nz/#!eplUzQqa!fbMSQyzBhYB9tTxj3BGlTgAF0Tdu7czGKGxohSfQLK0 Enjoy!! :) --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Old version: EDIT: Here I've fixed Now I'm Here from Japan 24 & 25 and Boh Rhap from Japan 25. https://mega.nz/#!ytdhFLha!4ngVL_o5YtIxitlqnoJP-JgIXWb4-_Q2VzytztQ8XCk EDIT: Here I've fixed both TYMD versions 1/3/1979 & Now I'm Here from 28/2/1979. https://mega.nz/#!q89WhZgT!dUIOnGF4dXFFOTfzISyMmbUOnLCNi8qFVLQMHJO9yAE --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hey everyone! This is a little different for me because I usually just upload these videos to my YouTube channel, but Bob from Queenlive.ca advised me to do this because he said they were decent! :) Below I will say what songs are on which concert, if they're full or cut and where I got that particular video from! Also BIG thanks goes to Bob for creating the video tables on Queenlive.ca! I'm new to this so I am a bit of a noob, if I've anything wrong or should have done something else, reply to me what :) Constructive criticism does no harm! Just a little warning there is 3 clips from "Rare Live" which is kinda considered "Official" but they aren't full songs, just clips sorry for any problems caused! :( (Both Tie Your Mother Down from Paris 1/3 & Sheer Heart Attack from Tokyo 25/4) Also because of the way the documentaries were edited, some songs are cut about which is why it is mostly fragmented when they come from "The Champions US" doc. Ok, here it goes, hopefully this works lol! :) Included in this post: Paris 27/2/1979: God Save The Queen [CUT] or known as "Merci beaucoup, Paris". This is awesome. Thanks! :) EDIT: I have to ask though. Why did you resize the videos? |
Chinwonder2 11.10.2015 16:04 |
By resize do you mean upscale them to 720p. The reason I did that is because I wanted the videos to look as best as possible without losing much detail since they're not good quality to start with (specifically vids from "The Champions" doc). If that's not what you meant them please do elaborate :) Glad you like it though! :) -Chin |
Mr.QueenFan 11.10.2015 18:23 |
This is a monumental share. Thank you! It's going to take a while to process everything, but as i was watching the videos from Tokyo 25/04/1979, i noticed that to my ears the sound of the Champions documentary is better than the Japanese broadcasting. Of course the volume difference is a factor, but when played back to back the Japanese broadcast sounds so compressed. Never noticed this before. Thanks again, this is really great! |
aristide1 12.10.2015 08:36 |
I'm glad official material is no longer an issue. Just ask Bob, then say "they aren't full songs, just clips sorry for any problems caused" and go on. What a progress! It was a time when interviews where mutilated before sharing, if official material was present. People had the uplifting feeling of doing the right thing for preventing the imminent queenzone close. Some "constructive criticism". Write "ANATO 30th Anniversary DVD" with small letters. Very small. |
Chinwonder2 12.10.2015 09:41 |
Ok but I don't think you can make the font smaller, not even in the advanced editor. Unless I'm missing something! :) -Chin |

Why do you feel it is the forum members' fault for taking advantage of the fact that this place is almost completely unmoderated? When the cat's away the mice will play. But I hardly think these ten second clips will deter people from buying a DVD. |

My only further thoughts are - both Paris versions of TYMD have some matching parts, and the end of NIH from March 1 has one segment of audio that doesn't match, as it should be the end fanfare instead of the riff (bad cut in the original documentary). Excellent job overall ! For years I'd been hoping someone would do this, as I just haven't gotten around to it. |
Chinwonder2 13.10.2015 10:14 |
Oh D: Whoever edited that documentary did a damn good job with mixing the videos together as well as the sound! But hopefully mostly everything else is right? :) Glad you like it Bob! :) -Chin |
Chinwonder2 13.10.2015 10:26 |
Ok I see where the Paris TYMD match but all of the NIH of Paris 1/3 are the same with that cut and the end is the same. Unless you meant the 28/2 because that video is from "The Champions" doc. If you did mean 28/2, i tried my best to make the ending sound a lot better than what it could've sound because I had to replace the audio as the original was a mixture of Paris and "Live Killers". -Chin |
The Real Wizard 13.10.2015 21:46 |
Chinwonder wrote: If you did mean 28/2, i tried my best to make the ending sound a lot better than what it could've sound because I had to replace the audio as the original was a mixture of Paris and "Live Killers".Whoops. Yeah, that's what I meant ! Indeed, the original audio was a mixture, but part of it was the wrong part of the song. At 0:50 it should be the final fanfare. 0:56 to 1:00 are actually kind of useless. That footage really could be of anything. So I'd just use the audio that you've got from 1:00 onward, and just use the ten seconds preceding it (or six seconds if you cut 0:56 to 1:00). ^ ignore all that if it's unintelligible. |
Chinwonder2 14.10.2015 07:36 |

Excellent stuff ! Only one slight kink - the beginnings of both TYMDs are the same. They're both 2-28. The first 6 seconds of video from 3-1 should have the audio from the audience tape. Then we will have world peace. |

Chinwonder wrote: There is? Can you tell me the timestamp in the video that I posted in YouTube please? :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DbqYh2v2m5k -ChinThe Freddie bit at 0:00 isn't correct, it's probably from the interaction with the audience during the middle. The next shot of Brian in his black outfit is not from this song. The lights at 0:06 look more like the opera section of BoRhap, but in this case it's just a guess. The part at 0:08 is Bohemain Rhapsody. The audience at 0:25 is European, this is from one of the Paris shows, you can see it dissolves into a Japanese audience. 0:043 "down in the city just you and me" is from the previous night. Everything else seems to be correct. BTW don't take it as some "hating" kind of criticism, I seriously appreciate your work, it's incredibly hard to re-cut the Champions footage, I gave up myself several times :) |

That bit is from "Tie your mother down". What made me notice this is that Brian goes with his hand to take out the "bottleneck" from the guitar belt to play the slide guitar part of the solo. But i guess some frames are missing, so i don't know if it's going to be synched, but here's the cue. The sound Brian is producing with the EMajor chord at 3:14 of the new "Bohemian Rhapsody" video is the one at 2:12 in this video (audio from TYMD Tokyo 25-04-1979): link Once you identified the chord you just have to work backwards. I don't have time to watch all the videos, so if there is any doubt about some footage, post here in this thread that i will take a closer look. |

I haven't got access to your videos at the moment, Chin, as they are not on the PC I am using now, but there's something I wanted to tell you when I was going through them when I had just downloaded them. The bit of footage you labeled as Bohemian Rhapsody from Tokyo, April 24th, isn't actually from that concert entirely. There are bits of Freddie with ribbons around his neck which actually come from April 25th - it's just a different angle as opposed to the Japanese TV broadcast version. But there are indeed some other interesting bits woven in which should be from April 24th (where he hasn't got any ribbons around his neck). |

Somebody might prove me wrong, but I think I found proof that 1979/04/25 was multitracked. In the TV version of WWRY, Brian's solo, while mostly cut is extremely out of tune. Yet on the extra clip that has the full solo, the guitar solo sounds fine, in the the proper tuning, and is definitely from this show as it matches the solo on the audience tape. How else besides having access to multitrack audio would someone in the '70's be able to tune ONLY the guitar and nothing else? Also, why does the TV version have the solo out of tune anyway if that's not how it actually sounded live? |
