According to link, we'll have a new 12'' single in 27 november, what is Bohemian Rhapsody 12'' single (b/w I'm in love with my car).
The list in the web indicates this:
12” Queen - Bohemian Rhapsody [12''] (40th Anniversary release with original artwork and tracklisting and first time as a 12'' single, indie-exclusive) 10
What do you think about this? It will be confirmed?
If it cost 1 pound and was forged on solid gold from the original tape with no loudness and an extra 3 minutes of unheard operatics and personally delivered to you by John Deacon most people who frequent this site will still think its shit.
Friday????
Jeez. "Dear Mr Boss man. I'm sorry but I can't come to work tomorrow because I have to queue up from 6am in the hope of getting a bloody record sometime after 10am that they may not even have in"..
THIS aspect of RSD sucks big time :(
It is true. This will be coming out at Independent record stores that take part in Record Store Day on Black Friday this year as a way to celebrate the 40th anniversary of "A Night at the Opera" and it's lead single.
While it's true that people do queue up early for these exclusive releases, I've found that RSD Black Friday is a lot calmer than regular Record Store Day. I guess people want their super cheap TV's and the like first.
From a fidelity standpoint, Bo Rhap should sound pretty good as a 12" single compared the the 7" it's been on. But I wish they would have done something a little more with it. I would have liked if they had made it a 12" mimic of the blue 7" all the way down to the label. It would have made it a little more collectable. But it also would have tied it in with the color vinyl box set coming it too.
Record Store Day started as a good initiative to help local record stores.....it's now another way fo the record companies to flog you the same stuff over and over again. The clue as to the aim of this shoudl be in the title ('Record STORE Day'), but you can order the limited edition RSD releases online!!!
Q: Who is on board to be part of RSD’s Black Friday?
A: For better or worse, Black Friday is a North American thing—the US and Canadian record stores will be participating by stocking special releases (although some of the releases may be different in the US and Canada). Some stores in the UK and Europe may have special releases as well, but they most likely won’t be using the term "Black Friday". It will be more about a kick-off to the holiday shopping season.
Bo Rhap's Black Friday RSD 12" is supposed to be released with the "original artwork" but I don't remember seeing that cover anywhere... It looks like they took the original single cover to put it on the bonus 12" of the Odeon box set instead...
Did anyone buy this and play it? Or did everyone just keep it factory sealed?
How does it sound?
Is the b side the same as the original single or is it the album version?
