Mary Potts seems to be the fictitious character the band thought of when referring to the average music listener. Does anybody know if this name or character was around before the band, or was she a character the band created?
I find it interesting how she is mentioned by Freddie way back in 76 when talking about how loud ADATR is, and then she's mentioned by Brian when talking about how precise to make some of the guitar sounds on Innuendo.
What other times is she mentioned? I swear Freddie mentions her in one of his David Wigg interviews. Doesn't he say she's from Bognor? She must have moved to Biggleswade by 1990 then, as that's where Brian believes to think she lives :)
i can see the Freddie link to her (if it's the same Mary Potts) tenuous though it is - she was a harpsichord teacher (TFFMS???)
there ain't much on the mary potts i found - but here it is: link
Well worked out......the band were actually influenced by her,and used the name as a sort of 'average' music listener.(better than using Joe Soap)Fred mentions her in at least two interviews. The Bognor bit was a bit random, though!
General questions can be made through this forum it has some suspect to clear over the parts it was shared by Mary Potts. I decided to fetch some information or send it to https://paperwritingservice.reviews/ this belonged to me it has some more useful articles to read on it.
