Well, Roger said he prefered him and Brian's version of TMBMTLTT better! In oposite to William's Orbit, of course!
A single release of the real Queen's version needed!
Yup - Roger seemed to confirm that one of the conditions of Jackson's involvement being retained was for Orbit's mix to be the only one available (or perhaps even for a Orbit to purposely create a 'Jackson heavy' mix on the instructions of his a Estate. Why they didn't just say 'thanks but no thanks' and then just have a freddie only version, recorded and mixed how they wanted it, I don't know.
Amazing really that they qanyed to exert more pressure over a Freddie/Queen track that Jackson happened to knock out a few unplanned vocals on, than, say, Bowie has ever done on 'Under Pressure'!!

I'm wondering about that one too, surely Brian did not forget that Freddie did a solo version :) :) ? I think that reworked Freddie-only version would be a great thing to hear but it won't happen as their collaboration with Orbit will continue and he could feel offended if the band released their version.
Cos Bowie's a cool dude!
They probably just took the deal because they'd been teasing at Freddie/Jackson tracks for such a long time - they probably felt obliged to just get something out there at last.

Actually, he didn't confirm anything of the sort in this interview.
Roger Taylor said:[It was in the archive] but then we got William Orbit... producer... He sort of worked on it for us... and we did our own version, and then we had to talk to Michael's estate... and... I actually prefer our version
It seems to confirm that the MJJ estate were presented with two options:
The William Orbit remix
The Brian and Roger remix
Other than that, this interview doesn't tell us anything.
It's might even be possible that the MJ estate had 25 better remixes and remixers available, but instead of paying for a decent work, QP chose to go with the one they got for free (since William Orbit is such a big Queen fan...)
So obvious either the cast or the producers didn't do their research that well. They were really clueless about when the tour was starting ("Will you be home in time for Christmas...?"), how many kids Roger has...kind of embarrassing to watch. Is this show supposed to be the UK version of "The View"?

It's a programme aimed at British housewives, hence its lunchtime slot and the title/demographics of panel.
Roger came on after a discussion about engagements, and an interview with a male victim of domestic abuse.

Just goes to show Taylor and May are getting desperate,
now Roger on "Loose Woman" what the fuck is that all about?
Queen on the xfactor on sunday with pretty boy yuk!
It is going from bad to worse, tell me i am dreaming and all of this is just a bad dream?
Desperate for what? An enormously successful world tour, which has sold out arenas all over the country right now, and added more dates because of the demand?
They've already got that.
Ooh RT and JD on Breakfast TV in 1984. BM and RT on Breakfast TV in 92. RT on Loose Women in 2014. So what, it's a daytime chat on TV, he was promoting the Band Aid song and got asked about the tour.
In 84 they talked about The Works album and Radio Gaga and in 92 they talked about Freddie. What the fuck was that all about?
I'm sure I remember Brian on Noel Edmonds Saturday Morning Swap Shop to promote NotW. Mind you I was only a kid back then so it could have been some other freakishly tall hairball, wearing clogs.

Cool, that's the first I've heard of it. I wonder if anyone taped it off TV... it'd be great to see. There's very little 70s interview stuff on film.
Holly: Brian never did "swap shop" but john and roger did go on "Tiswas"
I actually spoke to Noel on swap shop on the phone and complained that they never ever played Queen videos.
and when noel appeared on Richard and judy on ch4 that clip of me was shown again lol
