Sorry if this is a dumb question, if so feel free to delete this.
I was wondering if anyone knows if either of the other shows Queen played at The Summit in 1980 and 1982 were also professionally filmed. Also was wondering if there has been any word on if any of their shows at the Capitol Centre in Landover were pro shot since so many bands were filmed there.
There is a posibilty of course but...
Who cares? I bet if these shows were recorded they still don't have the multitracks, so it's makes no difference.
Saying that, imagine a box set called ''Queen at the Summit'' with the complete gigs of 77, 80 and 82. Sadly it won't happen.
There is no evidence of cameras at Houston 1980/82, the rumor mill speculates that in house CCTV might have been used to record these shows but there is no evidence so far to back that theory.
IMHO it is highly unlikely that anything Queen related was recorded in Houston outside of 1977.
if you listen to GB then it's a definite NO - as was virtually every other live gig that's since turned up in video format.
If you listen to Brian it'll probably be that not only were the gigs not filmed, but he'll probably quote Houston gigs that were filmed from years that queen didn't even tour the USA!!!!

But all you need is a mono video feed, like in Houston 77. The Springsteen, Eagles, Kiss and Aerosmith Houston shows from the era all have it too.
Considering the original intent was purely to project the band onto the video screens during the shows, it's amazing that any of these films (and their accompanying audio) survived at all.
As for the original question about other Queen shows in Houston - it's extremely unlikely.
I mentioned on here a few years back that I'd been speaking to someone who'd attended loads of Houston shows including Queen in '77 and in '80 or '82, he couldn't remember exactly which. He said they always used the in house screen whenever he'd attended any concert. Whether or not they were all recorded is another matter.
Greg Brooks said on here quite a few years back that they'd discovered a very early 80s show which they had no idea even existed. For some reason, possibly because of all the bickering and arguing at the time, this seemed to go over everyone's head and was never even questioned! It wouldn't surprise me at all if he was referring to another Houston show.

Well, I remember that! Hopefully one day we'll find out whether that mystery show is indeed a show filmed in Houston :-)
