So, I saw Birdman today.
Honestly, I can't remember the last time I loved a film as much as I did this one. My favourite movie of 2013, Dallas Buyers Club (which I love), comes nowhere close to this, in my opinion. Definitely the film of the year, one of my favourite films of all time, and quite possibly my favourite movie, ever. No joke, it was perfect.
It had the perfect mix of drama, serious dialogue, jokes, and even action. In addition to this, calling the camerawork phenomenal is an understatement; words cannot describe how beautiful the film was directed and put together.
If Alejandro González Iñárritu doesn't win Best Director at the Oscars, I don't know. I can understand (albeit I don't agree) if Boyhood wins Best Picture, but I hope Birdman does a nice sweep at the awards, like Gravity, which didn't win Best Picture or Titanic, which did.
But that's just my opinion.
Anyone else see it? What'd you think?
