Has anyone seen The Who live in Texas? Recorded at the summit in '75. Was watching it the other day and was wondering if anyone has any info as to whether the audio is from a multitrack?
It sounds like soundboard to me, the same as the Queen bootleg but can't for sure. If it is soundboard we can probably assume that Queen don't have the multitrack of their show either.
It seems to have been shot using only two cameras yet The Who have been happy to remaster and release on DVD. A pity QP seem reluctant to do the same.
I've said many times that it is such a shame the Queen won't consider releasing concerts where they only have a stereo mix - for example Hammersmith 79.
Many bands like The Who, Led Zep, Deep Purple have released gigs in whatever format they have, to great commercial success and critical acclaim, and it's so frustrating that a Queen won't.

Actually Led Zeppelin fans are wayyyy worse off than the Queen fandom. Jimmy Page has to be the biggest perfectionist in the world, and on top of that there are only 15 or so shows that are confirmed to be multitracked, and even fewer were filmed. What little Jimmy has given out has been chopped and edited to the point where the experience of seeing or hearing Led Zeppelin live is almost completely gone.
I'll take Live At The Bowl over How the West Was Won any day.
Dr.May can be a stubborn man, and once he gets something in his head he will not back down, that is why many Queen releases will not get released.
I agree things could have been done much differently
and fans treated much better to a wider selection of releases.
Artists moan about bootlegs, when it would all stop if they gave the fans what they wanted in the first place.
"Earls Court 1977" is one of Queens finest performances and hopefully one day will get the release it deserves.
Queen really have a stereo soundboard of Houston? The video feed on every documentary is in mono.
The Who in Houston 75 is excellent, as is the Kilburn 77 show. Both are raw mono mixes. The 75 show is identical to the bootleg that circulated for years, but the 77 show was a revelation - people had wanted to see that for decades after The Kids Are Alright came out in 1979.
Something like KISSOLOGY would be great. A Compilation of video interviews, segments etc by decade with 3 inclusive newly released FULL concerts (of archival quality if necessary) and available segments
2 BD/DVD ... that would be phenomenal.
Rare segments from media tours etc.
And it wouldn't compromise the unreleased stuff
