After Brian talking about needing permission from the Jackson estate, Roger said something of interest...
Go to 1:43:50 onwards... link
The part in particular where Roger says "We did our own mix of this, which you're not gonna hear, sadly, but we think it's marvelous. We think it's brilliant actually..."
It sounds to me like the version Brian and Roger thinks is brilliant wasn't given the go ahead..... and I'd say it was possibly because Freddie's vocals outshone Micheal's (hence the shittier Freddie vocals version has been given the go ahead instead).
What's your thoughts on this?
Seems quite possible - Jackson's delivery is so underwhelming compared to Freddie's, so the tinny sound on Freddie may well be an effort to balance it out.
I agree. My thoughts exactly.
To be honest, I'd prefer they removed the crap mix from the album, but I suppose if they did that then we'd never get to hear the others.
You'd think it would be Jacko's Estates' best interest to have the best mixes available of the 3 songs released as a Christmas single (although they'd no doubt insist on it being "Michael Jackson ft Queen" (cheeky fuckers). They'd double their sales figures I'm sure.

Which is a completely dishonest representation, as on the original demos, it was Freddie with the strong voice, and Micheal Jackson sounding like Mickey Mouse in comparison.
The only good thing about having MJs voice is the exposure the albums gonna get some of the songs on there were never hits in america when fred was alive. Its a chance for people to hear ace songwriting.
FFS, they might as well release 2 versions:
A Queen version in a Queen album and a Queen feat MJ version on a MJ album... Each one with their own particular differences.
In this way both Queen and MJ fans/estate get what they want...

A Queen version of Hangman and Silver Salmon in a Queen album, MJ version in a studio collecting dust. Everybody wins.
Its all about the money folks, if Fred was alive and trying to get this track on an album, do you in your wildest dreams imagine he'd be happy with this ? And that's the point of view Brian & Roger should be taking. Its just an awful mix, what happened to Queen quality control ?!!!!!
William Orbits last post on Facebook.... I might be wrong, but I think it could be about TMBMTLTT....
