It does look a bit strange, but maybe it was just a slightly awkward pose caught on camera... Having said that, it feels like he was really struggling with AOBTD, just before it happened...
I vote no on that getting much in terms of laughs from people. Don't be too eager to trip others up when you've got runny shoelaces everywhere.
And no I didn't write 'Tell me if I should give up the internet' so that makes your lame-ass joke redundant on yet another level. Tut tut.
Deary me.
It's easy 28 years later with hindsight to say that it's because Freddie was ill that he almost tripped. We all know by now that Freddie was already ill at that point and that he was starting to have symptoms related to Aids, but I don't think that movement was caused by Aids. You're reading too much into it.

AIDS and the Body Language video did it. He could not move well since the Hot Space tour.

Load of rubbish. Did you see the guy at Live Aid or in 1984-1985? I hope you're sarcastic.
You must have a hell of an eye for detail to have noticed that. I've seen Friday Wembley at least six times, and never noticed. As to what to make of it - now that you mentioned that he looks like he almost fell - none of us can make a truly objective opinion about it, as we have been prejudiced by the suggestion that he looks like he almost collapsed.
Looks normal to me, he was such an energetic performer.... To my mind he was just tired "physically". Try doing an intensive 30 minutes workout on gym and see for yourself what it's like.
fofum wrote: Are you saying I don't know what an intensive 30 minute workout at the gym looks like? ;)
I didn't mean that. After 30 mins of intensive training one (I for example) can feel tired and I think that is how Freddie felt during this part of the set. Thank God he could rest during Brian's solo before showing up again for Now I'm here.
I was only playing you up Old Fashioned Dandy.
Like you say, thank God he got a rest soon after... even if the fans had to endure another Brian May solo ;)
Oh, I never said it was necessarily his illness, but I think there was a lot of pressure on him at that point... perhaps a considerable amount from himself to put the best possible show. We've seen modern pop stars take a tumble onstage or even throw up. Fergie from Black Eyed Peas peed herself for heaven's sake.
Black Eyed Pees haha
Actually it's impossible to say what really happend in that moment....on the other hand there is a bootleg recording from the Magic Tour where he mentioned that he's getting older and his energy level is getting lower during a show...
In the radio documentary Mysterious Mr Mercury, Mary Austin talks about the '86 tour and says that Freddie knew by that point about the Aids and that the tour was a struggle for him. She talks about him giving her a look after the Knebworth show that let her know that that was going to be the end of touring for him.
I watched the 'moment' where he stumbles back again last night. He was nearly out on his feet. God knows how he found the strength to keep going, but the rest of his performance is faultless.
Can someone post a Youtube video with the exact time that happened? I've watched the video, and i can't find anything of that nature.
Thanks for the help.

yeah, he picks up a piece of paper - then realises it's the bar bill for the after-show party. then collapses when he sees it's been pre-paid against his own credit card

^^^ Is that documentary anywhere avaliable with english subtitles?
I think it isn't...it's even locked on YT in my own country. And I can't see someone doing this out of pure fandom....A translation of four hours with multiple scenes and storys. No way...
And yes it's a bit of a shame that it isn't available in english or with subtitles....simply because of Mack was at his best :)
He definitely has a cold or something (But i don't think it's anything more than that) as he blows his nose at the start on a towel and clearly struggles with his movements, like he has a headache.... And is totally knackered when he wobbles and sits down on the stairs.
