Any motor racing fans out there whether you like nascar or not you must know that Nascar champion tony stewart struck and killed another driver during a dirt track race in upstate New York . What are your thoughts on this and its effects it will have on racing
You started a thread asking for peoples thoughts. I have expressed mine. Some people have different opinions to yours. If you can't handle it don't ask questions any more.

If you are stupid enough to argue with a car in the middle of a race track while the race is still going on then its a win for Darwin I say.
Without doubt, walking onto the track was an idiotic move - whether cars were slowing for the yellow warning or not.
As someone who doesn't follow racing, though, I'm curious - was the initial hit (of the cars) unusual for this sport? I would imagine things like that happen often - or often enough for these guys to be familiar with crashes. I ask because Ward's response to it seemed over the top and irrational to me. Seriously, common sense - and I would guess one of the top ten rules of professional racing - would advise against charging onto a track when cars are barreling toward you. No?
Still... the first video I saw, was just a few seconds long and cut off before impact, so I was left wondering what had actually happened. I gave Stewart right in that case because of speed, Ward's dark clothing, a random person smack in the middle of the track...
But the second video I saw seemed to show Stewart's car hitch a bit to hit/scare/whatever Ward. Maybe I saw it wrong and the hitch happened after Ward was struck...?
As tragic as the outcome has been, it seems wholly irresponsible to me for a professional driver to walk onto a race track as a race was still going, so, at this moment, my own opinion would be that Ward's own actions are what cost him his life. So sad.
EDIT - I don't know how to embed a video here, but this is the link to the second video mentioned above: link

No this sort of thing has never happened the closest thing was an f1 incident where a car hit an official and killed him. Drivers do go out and do what he was doing but usually in the pits. This was not intentional though it was an accident this particular form of racing does bank abit so when stewart turned the right rear wheel hit the other driver launched him multiple feet away
Of course it was an accident, in that no one intended anyone else to die. But it could have been very easily prevented if the guy engaged both his brain cells at once and left the track of speeding cars rather than walk into their path. If it wasn't Stewart who killed him some other poor chump would have. The only good that can come out of this is the introduction of a rule along the lines of having to leave the track as quickly and safely as possible after an incident or its a lifetime ban from the sport. Shocking that some people would need to be told this..
One man died, of course is sad, and a tragedy, but the guy is famous and everybody talk about it and how can prevent this kind of things in the future.
A lot of people is dying daily in Gaza for the war, in Africa for the illness and the poverty. Even in Europe things are hard for the Ukranian crisis, but that is less important... sometimes humans can be really evil and stupid.
Doga that is what mankind does when a tragedy like the one in gaza is unimaginable so stories about puppies or celebrities so we dont have to wallow in tragedy
