I just read this article: link In it Brian says: "When I hear Freddie's voice coming off the recording, it's 35 years ago but it feels as if it was yesterday, and he's full of beans and naughtiness. It's a joy." I mean, "The works" was 30 years ago, so maybe Brian had been working on a track by the Game sessions (35 years ago)? We will find out later this year, but until then it's good to speculate about everything they say or write:-) |

He could be talking about two different tracks. |

It's really awful that I should have to point this out, but no amount of stupidity can surprise me from rocknrolllover...when someone says "35 years", they are using a rounded number, which means that it was ROUGHLY 35 years ago. It could be '79. It could be '78. It could be '82. |

We already know that he worked on a track by "The works" sessions or so, but reading this i got the impression that one of the tracks was late 70's early 80's. We know that there are at least 3 new unheard songs, and 35 years to me sounds more like a song from "The Game"or even "Hot Space" than from "The works", witch can imply that Brian had been working on two different songs at he same time. Of course i'm aware that 35 can mean 36 or 33, but in this case i'm taking the liberty to believe that it's not from "The Works" sessions, that was more my point that it being from "The Game" sessions. But it gave a great title for my topic:-) |

This rumour might have turned out false sometime later though, I just don't remember. But they certainly do have more tracks than we can even imagine! To have them all released would just be a luxury, but it's only just a dream! However, knowing that at least something is going to be given the right treatment, it warms me up a bit. |

If I'm not sure, or estimating, I'd say "roughly 20 years ago". Perhaps Brian said 35 years because he knows it was 35 years? If so, then it would place it in "The Game" era. It may just be an estimation - only Brian knows, as he'll have the recording dates in front of him. |

Walter White wrote:It is possible that he meant exactly 35 years ago, that's why I didn't rule out '79. However, based on the information available we cannot conclude that he definitely meant an exact time-span. Another problem is that we get the quote from a second-hand source: quotations are often modified slightly, intentionally or unintentionally, to fit the flow of an article, so for all we know there might have been an "about" just before "35 years ago" - we don't have a recording or a direct transcript available.thomasquinn 32989 wrote: It's really awful that I should have to point this out, but no amount of stupidity can surprise me from rocknrolllover...when someone says "35 years", they are using a rounded number, which means that it was ROUGHLY 35 years ago. Bottom line: I do not mean to say that Brian *didn't* mean exactly 35 years ago, but that we don't have enough information to pinpoint an exact date. Therefore, I do not wish to jump to the conclusion that a new track is from the "The Game"-sessions. I could easily see it being from either the "Jazz" or "Hot Space" sessions, maybe even "News Of The World". |

Tough 35 years ago do actually mean about 35 years ago it could actually be from The Game session. The Game was recorded in 1979 with more general Queen 70's sound that could have fit on any album from the 75-78 period while the sessions from early 1980 feature more syntheziser songs, as they broke with their No Synth rule. Maybe one the original songs from the 79 session which got dumped after the synth came in is now being reworked by Brian. |

There is no evidence for anything you postulated from what Brian said - because Brian was (deliberately?) extremely vague. |

A divisible-by-5 number is vaguer than a divisible-by-1. Divisible-by-10 numbers even more so. |
