Hi folks has anyone got a rough idea of how much Tim Staffell would have made out of his days with Smile and Queen ? |
Pingfah 05.02.2014 06:25 |
I think there's only one person who could even slightly accurately estimate that, and I can see no reason why he would do so. |
Elektra 05.02.2014 06:58 |
wasnt it Tim that collaborated with Brian on 'Doing Alright'? I suppose Tim would only know about Royalties |
Nitroboy 05.02.2014 09:08 |
Interesting thought, I've often thought how much he made/makes from the royalties. |
Pim Derks 05.02.2014 10:42 |
I doubt royalties for a co-write on one of Queen's less popular albums makes for a big pay cheque these days. I'm sure he made a nice sum of money in the last 40 years from just that single song alone though. Interesting article about royalties: link |
Liquid Scream 05.02.2014 11:47 |
Too bad for him that the song has never made it onto a live album or any compilation other than the BBC stuff. |

Lord Gaga 05.02.2014 12:13 |
I'm sure if you show him your weekly paycheck he'll gladly share his royalty information with you. |
bluephoenix 05.02.2014 12:19 |
he's actually a Uni teacher in London now, quite bitter about Freddie, funny guy though, doesn't strike me as being someone with plenty of money anyway |
cmsdrums 05.02.2014 13:22 |
Don't know why he'd feel the need to be bitter about Freddie - didn't Tim leave Smile cos at the time he felt They had gone as far as they could and he had a better offer? I suppose it's understandable that hindsight would naturally leave him to think "what if I'd stayed?", but in truth the others guys might easily not have made it without Freddie either. Life happens. |
The Real Wizard 05.02.2014 13:36 |
^ what he said. Tim has said he paved the way for Freddie. Had he not left Smile, the whole thing would've never happened. How that translates to bitterness eludes me.. |
Thistle 05.02.2014 13:42 |
Why would we even need to know that? But since you ask, I reckon he got more out of Thomas The fecking Tank Engine :p The more interesting thing to arise from this thread is his "bitterness" towards Freddie. If that is true, then he is a petty and jealous little man. |
Lord Gaga 05.02.2014 14:40 |
I doubt he's jealous. I was just reading some of his entries from the Ask Tim section of a Queen fan site (Jazz something?), circa 1998, and he said he had no regrets about leaving Smile. Like the Wiz says above, Tim had said that if he hadn't left, Queen wouldn't have happened. |
Thistle 05.02.2014 16:13 |
I don't think for a minute that he is bitter towards Freddie, all I'm saying is that if that statement was true, then it'd be pure pettiness. |

Anyone know how to contact him? His web is out of service. |
The Nosuch Disco 05.02.2014 17:52 |
I might be wrong... but isn't Tim in The Untold Story'? talking about how he 'moved over' as it were, didn't seem too bitter there. He's made his mark as an animator or something. |

Seen him in one of the documentaries showing no bitterness whatsoever.- how could he be? We're not talking about some Beatles drummer issue here you know. |
master marathon runner 06.02.2014 07:23 |
/Crikey, just realised the connection, Beatles drummer, (ringo), Tim staffell, Thomas the tank engine. |
Ozz 06.02.2014 14:16 |
Tim also played in Morgan. And who knows maybe there's royalties down there too.

I don't feel much for Tim Staffell. If he was an April lady I would wait until fucking May. I recall singing "three feet tall so very small, I'm no trouble", when in actual fact I was six feet tall and was prepared to fuck Freddie Mercury's cloned wife up her ass at 16 in a £1M property in the South East of England just after my and her GCSEs in 1996 - that property is now probably worth £3-£5M. I know she is really female, am I am keen to fuck her naturally without a butt fuck up the ass. Freddie Mercury's cloned wife's dad designs aeroplanes, so don't you dare fuck me off before responding! You bastards would love to know where the main guitar riff from Mother Love came from wouldn't you? Graham |

Just to clarify, I have been through a gender experiment with Freddie's true biological wife, where she pretended to be male for 7 years from the ages of 11 to 18. This has been a complete invasion of both her and my privacy whilst growing up and I am angry about this, especially when my intellectual property has been infringed against during my adulthood by fucking jerks like FIVE, Robbie Williams etc. This shows how extreme the central Government can be when they want a decision maker in the future who understands composition and music at a high level, where the requirement is also that any decision maker, must understand gender including homosexuality in the future. Did Tim not mention in one of the documentary's (Untold Story Methinks) that Doing All Right's royalties helped him out of a tight spot once upon a time? |
dragonfly.trumpeter 61319 06.02.2014 19:47 |
Yes Tim did mention this on one DVD which I watched at some point. In my view Tim is a lucky bastard for not getting caught up in the complexities of Queen going forward. |

I should imagine over the years quite a bit - especially if he claim performance royalties for the song which was still in the set up to '77 (I think?) |
