After watching Wembley for the first time in years I suddenly rememberd the bandmates balloons floating off into the air infact it looks like fred and bri escaped and rog gets pulled into the crowd! Anyone know where they ended up? Ever shown up on ebay lol? The other thing was, did this just happen at Wembley didn't see it at any other show .
For some reason I want to say they were at Knebworth too
As far as them popping up again after a concert... I doubt it since they were probably at least 30lbs deflated and were shredded to pieces and trampled by the crowd.
A real treasure: the beach ball that Freddie kicked back into the crowd at Knebworth. :D
I went to 3 of the "Magic Tour" 1986, UK gigs, Wembley (First Night) Manchester (????) & Knebworth & I am sure all three of those gigs had the inflatables, but could be wrong about Manchester, the old grey cells are fading in the last 27 years......
That's right, none at Newcastle, but Newcastle had something that Wembley didn't....- the flaming beacons atop the stage facade. Obviously, Wembley's overhanging roof section made they're inclusion impossible.
Was it in Manchester or in Newcastle where Freddie entered the stage from a "trap-door" beneath the stage with a puff of smoke? I'm not sure if he did have these different entrances during that tour.
One which was planned (according to Ratty's or Phoebe's book) was that he should be lowered onto stage from the scaffolding in a "bucket" but he couldn't do it because of the height....then there is that urban legend of him think about rifing a huge plastic dick to the stage !? I guess this NEVER materialized...
There were no inflatables at Manchester and only one of the four beacons lit during Is This The World We Created.........some woman joined them on stage for the Rock n Roll Melody, but to this day I have no idea who she was.

it was a long time ago,(I could be getting things muddled up) I am sure they were there (But most likely wrong) & I do remember the woman coming on stage & the beacon torches. I also remember, some guys climbing the fence, to do a pitch invasion & running to get a good place & some guys already on the pitch dropping one of them.
I seem to recall they had some dodgy Hells Angel type security in place and I can clearly remember the incident you refer to. Some lad was running full pelt on the pitch to get to the stage and this monster stuck his arm out and 'clotheslined' him and nearly took his head off. His head is probably still spinning!
One things for sure you would have ahell of a shock if you woke up one moning and opend your curtains to find a huge yellow member of queen had landed in the garden. Seeing those photos kinda brings it all back and makes you realise what a bloody long time ago it was:-( still when you watch the dvds of this tour it really dosnt look its age imo.

Yes, that was it.The Hells Angel guy, with beard.. you must have been stood quite close to where I was. I was stood to the left of the stage, in the terraces, quite close to where that lad climbed the fence & got dropped on the pitch.
I sure was in the Kippax Stand. Apart from the show, my other great memory of the day was being stood outside the ground waiting to get in, and they switched on the PA and played Sledgehammer by Peter Gabriel. There was quite a bit of concern by locals and the Council that the gig was going to be too loud. Having seen Queen at The NEC in 1984 and come away pretty deaf for a couple of days, I was worried the sound would not be loud enough for a rock concert, but these fears were allayed when I heard Sledgehammer vibrating around the ground from the outside. The gig wasn't as loud as The NEC, but it was loud enough. Amazing day, apart from Belouis Some!!!
Queen Productions missed a trick that day, as they could have filmed a shot panning over the terraced houses of Moss Side into the ground for the start of I Want To break Free.......missed opportunity there!

For those wondering what happened to the Freddie inflatable which escaped from Wembley, here's a link to the story at Brian's site. Scroll down the page and you'll see it... link

I'm sure some sadistic bastard is using John Deacon's inflatable as a sex doll.
Probably John.....
LOL. Funniest thing I've read in a while.
I'd completely forgotten about these inflatable things too, I hadn't watched Wembley for aages. Guess I was influenced by the general aversion to it some people here have. Still, those balloons are such a bizarre and amusing idea.
Can anyone tell me where they were released from?

Is not aversion but, having Budapest, what's the point of listening to Wembley? The mix is really horrible, and Queen were better in Budapest.
