Queen Mini-LP Replicas Reissued in Japan
Universal Music is re-releasing all the Queen albums in CD, this time enclosed in mini LP sleeves faithfully replicating the original UK artwork and inner envelopes. These limited editions will come on both the SHM-CD format and the new Platinum SHM-CD format, which uses the same Super High Material technology but on compact discs made of platinum instead of aluminum – this is the ultimate CD!
For all audiophiles out there, also the audio contained in both issues is a high definition cutting from the 96 kHz/24-bit 2011 remaster by Bob Ludwig.

I love this part of the press release:

Who cares? In the end, no matter what type of laser was used to burn the disc or what material was used to make the disc, it still contains the music as a 16-bit/44.1kHz files. What the audiophiles would want is the SACD's or the 96kHz/24-bit files available for download.

For fuck sakes, this is getting ridiculous. How many times have they issued these mini-LP replica series??
Actually isn't this the first time they release this? Or did I miss something? Because the last mini-LPs I know about were using a 2001 remaster, and this edition should include the 2011 remaster
Why is here everybody kisses the ass of GB, he loves to make money of our back.
Everytime when GB say something, there are fans who kisses his ass..

Are you really that dense? GB is not in charge of anything at Queen Productions, other than watching the archives. He has no say in the releases.
Well, is the third time this replicas will be realesad (don't forget about 1998 editions).
I can understand it's a bloody thing so much compilations, etc, etc...
Other thing is, to tip the scales in GB, I think this forum is very rude with him. He works as archivist, not makin decission of what is going to be publish....there is other man behind the courtain and all the shit you put on G.B. I think is not fair, and he can't talk openly of somethings we never know.
Is like I talk with Mack or Mike Moran, and have opinions very differents to Brian or Roger or other persons. There are a lot of versions.
I think GB deserves respect.
Personally, this is something I'm very interested in. I always thought the LP style CD releases for the 2001 remasters were very nice looking. But, I didn't really like the remastered sound. Btw, anyone know who did the 2001 remasters?
Then the 2011 remasters came about and from what I have heard, they're rather nice. So, to combine the nice LP style foldouts with the 2011 remasters, is a win-win for me. This might just make me repurchase my first CD remasters since 1994! Just hope I can get them relatively cheap on import.

2001 remasters were done Peter Mew at Abbey Road Studios.
I heard the SACD's. Trust me. These are not audiophile remasters. They are just louder. I got fooled many times by this. It is impressive at first, but by the time the album is over you have major ear fatigue.
I dont need no Jap remasters. I want to see Mini LPs with Hollywood Records 91 remasters. The best combination EVUH - best release form and best remaster. Would win hand down.

Then stick the HR remaster cds in the Japanese mini sleeves and you should be happy. In fact, you will be surprised when listening to each cd cause there will be an unlisted bonus song or two at the end of each album!
