link "A new Queen album is also on the table, after uncovering some of the band's old forgotten tapes (which include collaborations between Michael Jackson and Freddie Mercury, the band's lead singer who died in 1991). "The music is there and it's great, and I think people will really enjoy it," May says of the album, which is aiming for a summer 2014 release. "We keep finding more and more tapes, so we'll certainly be working on stuff that sounds like new Queen tracks in the next few months. It's exciting." |

I believe it when I hold it in my hands. So MANY Queen products were both rumoured and officially confirmed and never released |

Is that after the Ballads album, live at the Rainbow CD and DVD, Rogers possible handfull of live dates, The Kerry Ellis album Brian has mentioned in passing over the last year? We live in hope, I guess, but their is almost more chance of them touring with John Deacon on Bass and Lemmy on vocals! |

New Queen album airing summer 2014? Really? This is what I want and expect but ...... |

Good to see the official Queen Archivists have done such a thorough job in the last 20 years if new tapes keep turning up. |

If true I think the ballad album will go out the window, I also have the feeling that Brian & Roger have been working on various tracks for a few years now, and with Roger going thru his archive for " the lot " more forgotten tracks have appeared, and hey Preston we have enough good quality for an album, can't see a summer release though, Roger will be distracted by his solo album and tour, and Brian will be busy with the Kerry stuff and possible tour. It's still great news though, so much to look forward to, just like the old days : ) |

I wish to god that before they release things from the archives that they do at least one new studio l.p. with some other recording artists. It would make the catalog a lot more interesting and better in the long run. |

In september, Brian told iHeart Radio: “We thought we’d exhausted everything that was around and could be worked on but since then a number of things have come to light from various sources that we’d just plain forgotten about, including stuff with Freddie and Michael Jackson.” |

@PITTREK : Yes, I do agree, I wish the album could be on MY table too ! |

OFFS. For some reason my posts are only showing what I'm replying to and not what I'd replied. So, let'd do it this way.... Well you say that, but it's more likely that everything HAS been fully archived but Brian doesn't know yet what there is. Greg said at Convention one year that Brian and Roger are so busy doing other things that they get very little time to sit with them and play them stuff they've found. It has been explicitly said that 6 months can go by before they get another meeting with Brian and/or Roger, by which time they've (B&R) have forgotton what they agreed last time.... |

I agree with Pittrek. I'll believe it when it's released and in my hands. So many broken promises over the last few years......Hammersmith,Rainbow etc. I believe that Queen productions are offering us proverbial carrots to keep its fanbase interested. I'd love this album to happen tho. Live releases are all well and good but I'm fed up with the re re releases now. And the worst of the lot was the recently was The Freddie Mercury Tribute concert blu ray. |
MrFunster 14.10.2013 04:28 |
Indeed lots of broken promises. But, at this moment Bri&Rog are busy with lots of stuff. Brian even mentioned this on twitter including a photo of finishing a song. I think it takes a lot of time to make a brilliant final queen record. There's no need to force them, they did finish some songs for sure, I cannot believe it when they are lying about this. For me it 's more important what they deliver, not when they deliver. I love to see a new Queen record in stead of a compilation of songs with a few new songs. Maybe they will bring out a single this christmas and in the summer of 2014 finally the album we are all waiting for. |
MercurialFreddie 14.10.2013 06:48 |
What do you guys think about official open letter to Jim Beach/QProd./BM & RT or even Universal ? If we could help them realize that vast majority of Queen fanbase is interested in unheard/unseen/unreleased live or/and studio material then maybe they would more often meet with GT & GB in order to discuss the archives and decide what is worth releasing ? |
L-R-TIGER1994 14.10.2013 07:18 |
They will release the album together with the boxset for sure!(I've been reading this for nearly 12 years and then they complain when someone puts their "treasures"on YouTube without permission) |
