Hi,
Here is a sample of the version off SOTSW take 6. The reason from me , for you to hear is that I want to go deeper in to the discussion , if this was done in 1 particular take, so not necessarly the very first take as what is believed due to written statements of BM in some interviews. And can be found in various topics on this board.
So we can be sure this is one particular take. But we Always assumed it was the first take. All I can find is a statement BM saying we did it in 1 take. Due to this statement many people assumed this was the very first take. Where did this come from. Does any one have the actual interview where BM says it was the first take they used ?
All is very unclear to me.... So what I can find what was written is only BM saying it was 1 TAKE, not the very first take.... At least 5 more takes excist somewhere....
Here is the link to the audio file :

Interesting. The spoken intro was later used in the Trent Reznor mix of SCC?
Could you compare them ? I don't think so. See if there any Obvious differences between those 2.
Glad you noticed it : my first thought was the same.... But please compare those 2....
To be honest it sounded pretty much like the album version to me, exactly the same duration.
He pulled the link because it was meant to be take 6, but the link intro announcement was in fact take 1.
The OP has indicated we should 'stand by' while he checks the tapes again.
I get the impression he is knee deep in reels, poor fella! LOL

If it was the album version it would be official, another reason it may have been pulled I guess.
It's possible the box was just wrongly marked take 6, or the wrong tape was put in the box.
We have to wait for the big man to get back to us.
I have a studio DAT from the mid 90's of another band that lists multiple versions of the same song as takes, but are clearly just different mixes.
Although with SOTS, perhaps Brian was just referring to lack of overdubs?
