Hi!
I found info on Queenpedia that Rock it song from The Game album exists in version where sing only Freddie and only Roger separately.
Freddie Mercury Version - Unreleased
Roger Taylor Version - Unreleased
Is it true?
Thank you.

I read somewhere that Freddie and Roger each recorded a vocal "demo" of the track before they ultimately decided to go with Roger. That's not necessarily to say that they have a final, complete, and flawless take of Freddie singing the whole song. I'd love it if they did, though...
Queenpedia never lies, I think. But is it that important now? If it's supposed to come out someday then it will come out, but if it's not then it won't.
Even if it does exist, it's been gathering dust in the archives for nearly 33 years. But let me be optimistic at least now, if you please - I hope it comes out sometime in the future.

Mack used to wipe out a lot of things that they didn't use. He even had a problem with Brian because of that. So, *if* those versions were actually recorded *and* *if* they were preserved, there's still a 50/50 chance they got deleted.

It's an excellent website, but it's not perfect. It's got several mistakes. I've personally sent them loads of corrections, and I'm also directly guilty for some of the mistakes they had (e.g., claiming AOBtD is synth-free).
The thing is:
* Did each record a version? Probably (but not 'definitely').
* Did those versions get saved? Possibly (lesser chance).
* Do they still exist? Perhaps.
I would hope that the Freddie version (if recorded) does still exist; I would guess they got the backing track sorted and just had the vocals left to do, and would have both Freddie and Roger's on tape to compare versions.
They kept a rough outtake of a very early version of Sail Away Sweet Sister, and even when that song was changed hugely, that early was kept and made it onto the deluxe CDs, so I really hope Freddie's 'Rock It' is in there somewhere.

That is absolutely logical - but this is Queen we're talking about :p

Huh? At first you're protecting him and then you're taking a dig at him? What a strange position... Maybe you should, first of all, decide on as to whose side you're on?

Off topic: People grow someday, i think...
Over Topic: Hi, Little Russian guy (are you Anton? Really? or it's a trick?).
On Topic: As someone said since they kept a rough -brian on vocals- demo of SASS everything is possible... but, hey! remember it's Queen... The archives must be a kind of pandora's box.

I have a demo of Rock It with Freddie singing it all the way through and Roger doing bv's. This version has live feel to it (no synths, heavy guitars), but it sounds genuine to me. I really like it. It gives an idea how Freddie could have done the song and it rocks the hell out of the album cut. You can probably find it on Youtube. ;)
August, the version of Rock It you mention is not a demo, it is a Live version. Someone has removed the audience, which gives a bit of a studio feel. But sadly enough, it is still a live version. This version can be found in the Bootleg box Opera Omnia.
Tom
Thanks for clearing that up, Tom. I can't even remember where I got this one, 'cos I used to swap bootlegs all the time back in the good ol' days. :) It's still a great version, though.
