Following three sold-out nights at London's Hammersmith Apollo last summer, May also disclosed plans to do another Queen show with Adam Lambert as their frontman.
"We are talking about doing something with Adam, probably for TV," he revealed to us.
"He's an amazing artist and a very nice guy. We keep in touch and have a good friendship.
"We're not talking about touring yet, but we are talking about doing an event." link
Whilst i don't think he's a brilliant singer, he was very camp, very entertaining and the three shows at Hammersmith were far SUPERIOR in every way than any of the Q&PR shows!
Roger and Brian were on fire those nights - they were like a couple of kids rather than old men, and I'm up for that again anyday :)
Great news!
Adam Lambert is an extraordinary singer and artist. I've been aware of him since the American Idol and he is brilliant.
Psy is an artist too! He might be a pop sensation but he achived something that few "great" artists did. He reached to whole world with his art and that is something admirable. He's a great entertainer!
And i think that it's very positive for Queen that new artists still want to work with them.
I'm really excited that Brian and Roger are going to perform again under the name Queen. Very good news indeed!
At least we got Brian playing a nice version of The Show Must Go On with the acoustic guitar, also You're My Best Friend. That's a positive point about doing this gigs with Adam.
All they have to do it is make it great. Then it will all be good. Good luck with that. I really don't think Adam Lambert is my choice BUT if they can pull off some thing or things then that's fine. I probably don't mind at the least SOME work or project or projects done in collaboration with them.
good news. i'm looking foreward to a "greatest hits"-set consisting of fresh arrangements. i hope they'll tune in for a few surprises. as this will be for TV the quality of the recording will be excellent. that's good news, too :-)
nice to see brian and roger active again.
@rocknrolllover:
shelved concerts may be released at any time in the future. i think we should be thankful that those guys have still the guts to perform! lambert may not be everybody's cup of tea. but this IS the best news so far this year. creating new content anyway is better than releasing old stuff. although i like the rainbow-concert VERY much! a life-sign of those old men STILL is considered to be a good sign.
Yep, new DVDs and CDs would be nice. BUT I'm well up for seeing them play together again. The Hammersmith Odeon (yep, still call it that) show I saw was great, and the stream of the Ukraine show was fantastic. Great set list, some nice surprises. I would say however, I can do without the overlong Dragon Attack and also would be nice to lose UP and AKOM for some other fresher tunes.
