While all of this was going on in Texas and China, Northeast (US) news covered ONLY the search for the Boston Marathon Bomber. No amount of channel flipping brought more than a sound bite in the brief "in other news" segments on that day.
Once they had the second guy, had questioned him and things started moving forward, we began hearing about the cleanup and return of residents to Texas.
As for China, the first thing I recall seeing about it was that a bride, who was a reporter, left her wedding to interview survivors – while she was still in full veil and gown. Other than that, there wasn't as much coverage about either story here as there was about the Boston bombings.
