What do you think?
Would it be a good idea if the group Queen issued a compilation album. For example in a similar vein, as The Beatles did with thair album Love.
So not only greatest hits album but somehow theme album with related songs.
And there should not be breaks between songs.
I think it would work perfectly!
So what do you think!
No, no and no. We're tired of all these compilation albums which are released about 50 times a year, and which aren't needed at all. All we need in the first place is a 70's concert, Rainbow to be correct.
Yes, I would also like to see an album from the seventies, but I have lost all hope. It seems that the Rainbow 74, will not be according to our wishes and the Hyde Park 76, apparently will never be published.
Also great boolteg Boston 76 obviously is not an option!
Fully agree with ''Lostman''. Those compilation albums are useless.
Just make your own personal compilation cd album, make some nice art and the job is done :-)
70's show for sure, let it be Hammy 1979!
Great idea....sadly not.The record companies seem only interested in the tracks that people relate to,such as the'hits',so assume that such an album would have limited appeal.I for one would be happy to see a full DVD of Hammy 75 with perhaps bonus footage of the Rainbow or other earlier shows this year.

the beatles love album was an album of well-known songs that people relate to - even the album tracks they chose were well-known ones. and i think the album went top five almost everywhere it was released, going 2X platinum in at least 8 countries.
any similar queen project would be the same content (singles and well-known album tracks), no doubt.
so i don't really see the point you;re trying to make
Well.....after having the 'Love' cd given to me by four different friends as a Solstice present years ago, listening to it once, and then putting it away, never to touch and thinking 'oh, some of these are nice, but'...until my best friend got married for a second time in Vegas a few weeks ago.
One of two reasons for the trip were to see our friends, their wedding, and 'Love'.
holy sh*t...........what a show....what sound (stereo speakers in every headset), $180M spent before it opened.....and then to see the documentary disk a couple of days ago....
It was not made so that George Martin's son could play around with a legendary song. It was George Harrison's idea. He was best friends with the director. To listen to, and watch, the performance of 'While My Guitar Gently Weeps' at the show brought tears to my wife's eyes, tears and chills to me, and after repeated listens, we just choke up and don't speak....
What fun to see all the making of the process.
Good lord, if you have time, watch the 'Love' disc and all of the bonus presentations......imagine Paul, Ringo, Yoko, and Olivia as your critics..........trying to please one would be the most frightening thing in the world....add on the others, plus your dad (George Martin), perhaps the harshest critic of them all (that's saying something)...and his son pulled it off.
Add on regarding the show.......just frickin WOW. 2000+ paying $79 + to two shows a night. What an experience!
There are some C+ and D- moments.....but, that's life.
Q pissed away their chance with the WWRY show. The Beatles released some of their studio anthology stuff. Queen needs to do their entire BBC, demos, and whatever is left.
And.....Brian and Roger could talk to the Cirque Du Soleil , have them put on a show, and do something better. Then again, listen to what the Hwood bonus tracks sound like. And they agreed to that crap.
my two pence
"'Love' was just a kids GCSE project in music editing. A Queen 'Love' project would just be a lesson in stitching.... "
Sometimes I read my own posts and wonder what the fuck I am on about.....
haha^^^
i love "love" all of it works....it's the most beautiful mashup project ever...so much genuine love went into it
and the cirque du soleil performances were amazing - saw them on sky tv some years ago - at the time of the cd/dvd
release
Love is actually a wonderful record and a tribute the Beatles' songwriting, musicianship et recording prowess.
And yes, that stripped-down version of While My Guitar ... is just jaw dropping.
