Has anyone heard of the above, this was apparently released by a TV company in Brazil in January 2013.
I have been offered this for sale, however it's not cheap & I would like to learn more before parting with the sum requested?
I have "Googled" this to no avail, but I know there are some pretty clever, kind & resourceful souls out there who might know more?
Hi Bob
I'm told it's good quality. however I doubt it's better than the songs released as part of the iTunes extended versions released in 2011. I got a genuine copy of "Miracle Game" from the guy it's the real thing but not cheap. I'm going to say no to his offer of this DVD, I can't find any reference to it anywhere!
No comment on this 'release'
BUT
If this was shown on Brazilian TV there MUST be better copies than those currently in circulation. Somebody has a better copy for sure.
It was recorded/aired by TV Bandeirantes. There are 3 different versions of this AFAIK, at least those that I recall watching. One, the full thing, live, period (with the interviews before the show). Another one from a rebroadcast exactly a week later, but slightly edited (no songs cut, I had to re-record some songs I missed in the live broadcast from this - damn pause button!). And a 3rd one, from a TV special they made about the concert/band, about 1 hr or so, with several songs cut (both solos for example) and very edited (audience camera scenes from one song appear in another etc.).
I've seen it on the internet with sources mostly from this second rebroadcast, and a few from the original and the first ones I saw were from this short TV special of the 3rd version and these are in the worst quality as well.
We didn't have VCRs here back then or easy ways to tape it so there probably are very small chances of a good "master" copy done by a fan to exist (I taped the audio with a small mono tape recorder directly from the tv speaker and it was my main source for 20 years). TV Bandeirantes doesn't have (obviously) the rights to the tape and can't sell that or make copies, and I'm almost sure that they probably have deleted it by now or kept just this small version or brief parts of it in their archive, unfortunately. They have never rebroadcasted it since maybe the 80's or even besides these 2 extra times, if they did that probably it was the short version.
And there's always Queen Productions Ltd. for the rescue, they might have bought/kept the masters somewhere... but you know when an official release from this source will happen.

I doubt this. The latest documentary features a few parts from this show and they look WORSE than what we have

If I'm not wrong, that 3rd version is from a rebroadcast right after Mercury's death, and it was a 45 mins version with better quality than the previous sources.
A friend of mine videotaped this on 1991, from cable tv service.

But they did sell copies to other TV stations.
Here in Peru, that Sao Paulo '81 show was regularly broadcasted on early 80's through 'America TV Channel 4'. So probably they still keep a copy of this show on their archives.
