Hi everybody. In December I started working on ANatO using the different available sources, and I can say the album is almost ready. One problem I have is that every time I listen to the new full album I find at least two things to change, and I never finish because of these reason. It was a very very hard task, with every song. One reason is that there are so much different recording qualities, like if the album had been recorded in various places with other instruments. For example, there are four songs which had very opaque bright: DoTL, YMBF, 'Good Company', and 'The Prophet's Song'. Not including YMBF, the rest had one common issue when the bright got restored: lots of clicks, mainly in the cymbals, and some others in the vocals. A way to hide clicks is to reduce the highs in the song equalization, which is the opposite thing to this project's goal. I hope to upload the complete album to Febraury 10th. And then, start with Innuendo and finish it before March starts (with luck). I'm thinking about other albums to be the next, too. This post will be edited when the album gets uploaded. Without more distractions, here are two songs: I'm in Love with My Car (Album Version): General: -An explosive but cleaner intro. -Eliminated the strange sound 'bilbup' at 0:31 -Reduced the "bub gubu bglub" sounding of the entire song. -More expansive feeling Drums: -Changed every single snare, so there's no double hit in them, which made them sound weak. -Restored the full hi-hat hits (abruptly interrupted lots of times: 0:05, 0:08, 0:13, 1:14, 1:23) -Eliminated that cheap sound from the fills and the tombs. -Added pan to the toms. Vocals: -Increased the feeling that Roger aggressively needs to sing loud to be heard. -More harmonic backing vocals. Guitar: -Balanced the guitar volumes. -Balanced just a bit the effect the guitar has during the song. -Added the full guitar track. Bass: -More definition given to the bass. -More deep. Piano: -Raised up the piano volume. |
C_Matt 08.02.2013 06:10 |
'39: General: -Cleaner sound. -Eliminated very few clicks. Percussion: -Raised up the tambourine. -Gave deep and hit to the bass drum. Vocals: -Reduced the excessive stunning middles which perforated the ears at the choruses. -Balanced the volume between Brian and the backing vocals. -Balanced the volume between the backing vocals. -More natural vocals. -Added just a bit of reverb to Brian's voice at the very end. -Added a reverb at the last "me". Guitar: -Added a little way down guitar in the left channel at 0:09 -Restored the lost guitar bright. -Changed just a bit the panning for the very end guitars. Bass: -Gave deep. -Gave attack. |

Sounds great, really brings out things you miss first time around and these two are my fave off the album. Looking forward to the full thing, keep up the good work, see if you can make cosmos rocks sound ok? haha |
C_Matt 08.02.2013 22:28 |
Hey! Thank you very much for your response! Those are both of my favorite songs from the album too, are from those songs you recall if someone says the name of the album. Today I (think) finished 'Bohemian Rhapsody' final adjustments. Three songs left to revise and to upload! |
Blaise Pascal 12.02.2013 12:18 |
Good job on I'm In Love With My Car, excellent on '39: Brian finally seems to sing and not to whisper to a microphone! xD |
Lord Fickle 12.02.2013 15:54 |
Both nice mixes. You can really hear the double bass in '39. :) |

You just KNOW I'm going to ask for lossless FLAC files. Seriously - with all the hard work you do, it's a shame to release them as mp3's, even at 320kb/s. |
C_Matt 14.02.2013 10:28 |
Thank you very much guys for the feedback! I'm glad you like it and appreciate the work. I really like how '39 sounds too. Don't worry, I'll upload them to PutLocker in FLAC and MP3. I'll give that site a try, since I've read it's one of the best, and MediaFire fucked all up deleting my files all the time. I hope to have it uploaded by tomorrow. I'm really sorry for the delay, I'm fixing the last things before uploading it, and I've been bussy in my real life. Meanwhile, here's 'The Prophet's Song': General: -Eliminated constant hiss in the acoustic guitar and drums room tracks. -Cleaner quiet parts. -More definition and different delay to the 5:50 hits. -Restored all the backing instruments at the guitar solo (from 5:54 till the end). -Reverb and bright to the Toy Koto. Drums: -Restored the whole cymbal set shine. -Heavier drum kit. -Definition and weight to the bass drum. -The hi-hat sounds cleaner and less "metallic". -More defined snare. -Weightier toms. Vocals: -More presence to the main vocals. -Fixed LOTS of strange vibrating "ssssss" -Restored some inaudible backing vocals. -Cleaner vocals in the opera part and the whole song. -Eliminated some mic vocals "PMBHPMH". Guitar: -Shiner acoustic guitar. -Stereo expanded the electric guitars. -Brighter overdrive. -Changed guitars priority and volume levels. -Remixed the guitars at the solo guitar orchestra. Bass: -Depth to the bass. |

That's nice too. Did you notice, though, that there seems to be a bit of a 'double' snare, or something a bit 'off' in the part between 2:21 and 2:27 ("The earth will shake, in two will break...")? Not sure if that's supposed to be there, but sounds a little odd. Also, there's a slight volume drop at 5:54-5:57 (the 'bouncing' stereo bit), which you might want to correct for the final version. :) |
C_Matt 14.02.2013 16:06 |
Thank you Fickle! I corrected the volume drop at 5:54, trough the four last "go and come" stereo hits won't sound as strong as the other three, since they have a complete pan, and all the sound will go to one channel. In the original song, those hits sound more prolix because all of them have the same panning, and to make them sound strong they raised up their volume, that's why it sounds like a tinny cut at 5:56 in the original version. The odd snare part is in the original recordings, as can be heard in the original song and in the parts that are similar. Anyway, you are right about the sound, I noticed it to, like the snare starts to sound an instant before being hitted. I think that "effect" is produced by the drum bass pedal coming back or maybe an overdub, like IiLwMC or BR. Very soon I will upload the album. |

Amazing is all I can say, looking forward to the album. How long? gunna be awesome |
C_Matt 19.02.2013 19:04 |
lk, I'm sorry but I want to fucking kill myself. I'm doing a short trip right now, so before to come I decided to put all the songs in my pendrive to upload them today... but I forgot the pendrive connected to my computer. I'm coming back to my hometown by Thursday. As soon as I get there I'll upload both CD's (13 songs in the first one and 24 extras in the second). I was really excited to upload the songs and hear you opinions. Just a few days... but the delay is taking too long for me. I hate myself. Meanwhile I'll create a post to keep all my uploads organized. Good new: Fortunately I have my MP3 with me, with some songs from the album, but I want to upload them together. I can share one at the moment, for which I'll create the corresponding post. EDIT: Here's the link to the remix: link |

no damage my friend, no rush at all, more than worth the wait I am sure |

Double post. |
Lord Fickle 22.02.2013 07:52 |
I'm struggling to even get the first file, with failed connections to putlocker, and battles with stupid popups, but will try to persevere. |
DragonflyTrumpeter83 22.02.2013 08:53 |
Excellent revison, Matt... Thank you for your efforts! :D |
Daro 22.02.2013 09:12 |
I can't download it, just an .exe! Can anyone help me please? |
Lord Fickle 22.02.2013 09:14 |
OK, got them all now, and have listened to a few tracks. DOTL is great (by the way, it's "Shark" ;) ), and sounds fuller and more rounded. LOASA is what it is - but a nice mix. I've already heard IILWMY, so skipped that one, and went to Sweet Lady - not one of my favourite tracks, but you've done a good job with this one, and the guitars sound much better. Being a bit pressed for time, I then went onto Bohemian Rhapsody. At first, I wasn't sure about the reverb on the intro vocals, but I think it does work quite nicely. There are a couple of specific bits in BR that I wondered if you'd corrected - one being a small stray vocal at 3:30, immediately after 'monstrosity', which is still there, but the other was the messy pan on 'little high, little low', which you've corrected nicely. I'm not sure if the vocal lift in the heavy part isn't a little too much, and although it's nice to hear the piano, I'd rather have heard the guitars boosted, but that's just a personal preference, and overall, I think you've done a nice job on which is a very challenging track to work on. I've yet to hear the rest, or the bonus tracks, but will look forward to doing so over the next few days. Thanks for your efforts. :) |

Daro wrote: I can't download it, just an .exe! Can anyone help me please? You're probably clicking the wrong bit - the download link is in the bottom right of the screen, with a little floppy disc icon beside it. |
Daro 22.02.2013 09:45 |
i'm sorry, it's so wierd, i just can't download it, when i clicked in the little floppy disc icon, this happens: link and i can't find the file or any download! |
Lord Fickle 22.02.2013 09:53 |
The download link is still working for me. Once you click on the floppy disk icon, you should get an option to either Open or Save the .rar file, in which case, Save it. Alternatively, try right clicking the floppy dick icon, and select "Save link target", or similar, depending which browser you're using. Have to admit, though, these upload / download sites are getting to be a real pain in the arse. It's a shame we don't have a better solution. |
Daro 22.02.2013 10:28 |
I just can't download it, i have been waiting for this a few days, but it's not working for me, thanx Lord Fickle for trying. Maybe it's a firewall thingy, i don't know. Mediafire anyone? that will be helpfull. |
C_Matt 22.02.2013 13:56 |
Thank you very much Dragonfly and Fickle for your feedback! It's always nice, interesting and helpful to read them. Daro, I'm sorry for the delay. I'll try to help you with PutLocker, I'm reuploading them to MediaFire. As soon as the files get uploaded, I'll put the links. MP3 320kbps for now. CD 1: link CD 2 1/2: link CD 2 2/2: link I say to you that might you should try by using other Internet browsers and try with them. The download button, as Fickle said, is the one which appears beside the "Download - Play now" advertising, that one with the blue arrow. I hope you can download it before MediaFire delete the files. Fickle, about the album, you're right, I misspelled "Shark" :P Anyway, I'm glad you liked it, with some new brights and volume balances. I think YMBF had an important improvement too. Sweet Lady sounds more filled too, trought not one of my favourites too, but it's the rocker part of the album together with other few songs. With Bohemian Rhapsody, I didn't eliminated the alone vocal at 3:30 because I considered it part of the opera recording takes too and liked how it fits, like a strange voice saying "pride" at DoTL's "...cesspool of pride" or some lost vocals in DSMN choruses. As for the "Little high..." pan, I always thought it was very abrupt, like at Innuendo's "You can be anything you want to be" (and cuts Freddie's breath and goes to the left channel) "Just turn yourself...", which is more noticeable because of the excessive use of effects on Freddie's vocal track. The vocal lift maybe a bit loud now that I hear the song again. I had lots of problems with the heavy part to make all instruments being audible. BR was a real bitch. Thank you very much for your feedback Fickle! Cheers! |
Lord Fickle 22.02.2013 14:12 |
Perhaps there's a reason why all the instruments can't be heard in all of the parts. The heavy part of Bohemian Rhapsody needs to be brutal guitar, in my opinion, and the piano doesn't really need to be there or add anything to that part, hence why it's low in the original mix. :) Regarding the "mostrosity" vocal, I hadn't heard that before the stems, but have since considered it to be an error that wasn't corrected, as it couldn't be heard in the finished mix. Obviously, your interpretation of that is different, which is fine, but personally, I'd have removed it. :) |
dobo 23.02.2013 13:00 |
awesome thank you |
Daro 23.02.2013 14:37 |
wonderfull work here, thanx so much! |
TomP63 24.02.2013 13:38 |
Ciber_Mato, I've downloaded the stuff, I did not had a chance to listen to it, but I'm pretty sure it must be amazing. Just as your other work is. Thank you! Tom |
C_Matt 26.02.2013 21:12 |
Sorry Fickle, I didn't read your comment before. It's true, but I felt the piano filled more the song, and have spectacular bits of Freddie's playing that must be heard. I considered a similar situation at the messy part of 'Play the Game', with a fantastic piano fills which are a shame that weren't audible before. Thanks for the comment! :) Dobo, Daro and TomP63, thank you very much for your feedback! I really hope you enjoy this album very much! Now working with 'The Miracle', slow and hard progress, but I think it will be worth it. |
beatmichael 27.02.2013 11:59 |
Love your work again CM. Really put a polish on the album. Why can't (or won't) the pro's approach the care and detail that you are attempting? Who knows. Glad you're filling in the blanks. Really enjoyed your take on things. I passed the link along to some like minded folks. Hope you don't mind. Thanks again! PS - You already did the Miracle! |
beatmichael 28.02.2013 19:58 |
I've listened a few times now and I finally got to listen to it at a decent volume. I'm pretty impressed man. I was really shocked when a/b-ing it against the last official remaster - how murky and lifeless that mastering actually is. Shocked. To use a tired cliche; It sounds like you lifted a blanket off the speakers. My favorite tracks are now '39 and Good Company! Two songs that passed me by on the album until now. The acoustics SHINE in '39. The acoustic bass is so defined and present. It's so buried on the official, it might as well not be there. The guitars in Good Company are unreal! That wah-wah part is smoking! There's a whole other part there. Never heard it before. The parts that sound like clarinet are fantastic. Such a great arrangement and it's so clearly defined now. It's so complex. Beautiful. Even God Save the Queen sounds great now. I think to echo Fickle's comment about the 'rocking' part in BH... I think the guitars are there and present enough there just is a hole in the center of the mix. Makes the vocals a touch too loud and does seem to lack a bit of the punch or whatever there. It's just different. That's really my only quibble and it's a small one. I can live with it. Thanks again for your work and your sharing. |
Daro 01.03.2013 18:30 |
Like beatmichael said, it's reeeeaaaaally good, and don't forget the red special like never been heard before, just awesome, huge fan of this guy. If you like queen music, this is IT. |
C_Matt 02.03.2013 14:11 |
Beatmichael and Daro, thank you very much for your words! I'm really happy by knowing you liked this work and it's always very nice to read things like this and feel that it was all worth it. I suposse the problem with the pro's is that they work under strict orders or doesn't have the sources to work properly, but I really wanted that the 2011 remasters sounded a bit better than like they actually are. Everyone is allowed to share the links to everyone they want (unless they are copyrights infringement cops haha). I love to do that A/B comparisons too, since it's the strongest point to appreciate the changes. About 'The Miracle', as I hear my past work with it now, I feel it could get so much better, and even I don't like how some songs sounded, so I'll try to do my best and work again with it with my actual knowledge. And I'm thinking about making a compilation in the future with some new mixes to patch the songs which didn't get as good as I expected (Bohemian Rhapsody, Dragon Attack, Tear it Up, and some others). Thank you very much again! |

Thank you very much again, Kevukuk! The key is the passion and detail care. I invite you to download in few days the 'Hot Space' HD Revision too. Cheers! |
kevukuk 16.08.2013 05:40 |
Will give it a listen mate, just one question, is there any artwork for this apart from the front cover that was included in the download? |
C_Matt 17.08.2013 16:56 |
Hi Kevukuk! There's no any other artwork. I could make it, and would love to, but it takes a lot of time I don't have right now, or it might delay the upload some weeks. The cover art is like a formality, a presentation card. Thank you for listening it! |
kevukuk 01.09.2013 04:05 |
Ok thanks for replying, I wish I could create artwork but I wouldn't know where to start, can you recommend any software? |
C_Matt 15.10.2013 14:22 |
Hi, Kevukuk! Long time I didn't enter here. For artwork and all that stuff I use Adobe Photoshop. I prefer CS3, but there are newer versions. Other choise could be Illustrator too. |
