Is it just me or does Pain Is So Close to Pleasure really sound like a badly re-arranged rockabilly song? |
thomasquinn 32989 21.01.2013 09:26 |
It is you. |
master marathon runner 21.01.2013 10:17 |
Yes, definitely you. |
DLCVinnuendo 21.01.2013 10:31 |
i love this song, but the single remix is much better than the album version |
brENsKi 21.01.2013 10:33 |
it'd have to be extremely badly re-arranged to be "anything other than what it is" think you maybe should clean the wax out yer ears |
BradMay 21.01.2013 10:51 |
I think that you are a bit deaf.. |
brENsKi 21.01.2013 10:57 |
only a bit ???? |
BradMay 21.01.2013 11:13 |
Actually, i think he is deaf as fuck. But i didnt want to put that here because i'm a quite new member. |

Anyone who remixes PisCtP to sound more like Crazy Little Thing gets a smiley face from me. |

So, if you say I'm deaf and I say you suffer from the lack of imagination, what happens next?. firstly, i wasn't the one who said you were deaf! i was the one who questioned the "only a bit" statement secondly, you can't claim i have a lack of imagination - certainly not after i just imagined you doing some weird twist-hybrid dressed in rockabilly gear and i have to tell you it was the singular most amusing and equally disturbingly strange mental picture i've ever had....added to by the fact that you clearly couldn't dance if your legs were on fire - (co-incidentally, another one of my mental pictures of you) |

cmsdrums 21.01.2013 14:48 |
No - not a rockabilly song. It's actually a poor pastiche of Spector era Motown if anything. |

matt z wrote: Guh = astonishment at the suggestion. ... I must have read wrongSounds so banal when translated LOL Guh at what, the remix suggestion? Should be a piece of cake if you got all the compound parts I guess. Finding those parts might be not XD Otherwise, the melody is phrased after the chords. Some harmony trouble might arise at times – it’s Queen! – but still, why should it be a killer? It’s within a reach of a human to simplify some parts and make a little faster the whole thing and then what you got is rockabilly :-) |
brENsKi 22.01.2013 09:34 |
and pray tell, HOW dou you intend changing the intonation and empahsis in the vocals to make that sound rockabollox? |
Zaza Gabor 22.01.2013 11:40 |
brENsKi wrote: and pray tell, HOW dou you intend changing the intonation and empahsis in the vocals to make that sound rockabollox?I’ve no idea what you mean by rockabollox, darling dear. What about the old good rock’n’roll stylization know as rockabilly, the emphasis and intonation are exactly right. Wanna bet? |
thomasquinn 32989 22.01.2013 13:51 |
You'd lose. There's no rockabilly involved, and I really don't see any way you could fake it without making it sound like a four-minute digital glitch. |

Sure it’s been involved. The whole song is like a bad relationship, the vocal tries to carry on like “save me! I’m rock’n’roll!” and the arrangement responds “and you’re screwed”. I’m just saying, it’s not the verdict :-) |
brENsKi 22.01.2013 16:56 |
stop talking like a tit ieven the vocal sound like a piss-poor diana ross "chain reaction" crapola. no way is it rockabollox or rocknbollox or any other kind of 50s crap |

brENsKi wrote: stop talking like a tit ieven the vocal sound like a piss-poor diana ross "chain reaction" crapola. no way is it rockabollox or rocknbollox or any other kind of 50s crapDarling dear, I talk because I know what I hear, I know what I mean, and I know how I can possibly prove it; plus I’m old enough to distinguish that every cliché the stupid keep repeating on the internet [generally speaking/nothing personal XD] isn’t the voice of truth XD Now, how about you? Let alone you are badly underrating old good Freddie; you don’t even have courage to say that the opinion you defend is yours. What a disappointment :-( Did I say “wanna bet”? Forget about it. Clearly, you have no guts, no spark, no nothing… you’re a waste of time! |
brENsKi 23.01.2013 09:35 |
i've explained what i mean - not my fault you can't read but then it's fairly obvious you can't read properly - you can't even spell Zaza Gabor [sic] correctly. sounds like you picked your nickname (trying to appear clever/deep) - from a David Wigg interview from something Freddie said ONCE. "and they were very nice, and I did, so I mean all the shutters were down, and I went along, and I felt like, I dunno, Zsa Zsa Gabor I suppose" |

@brENsKi I agree it sounds like Diana Ross. Whether it's "piss poor" or not depends on your POV. It's not outstanding - to me - because it' doesn't develop much from DR. But there is SOME development. It certainly doesn't sound like "Stray Cat Strut". :-) |

Aww really, briENsKi? No problem, I can always make another one for you. It’s the least I can do to thank my personal hater for keeping my motivation up LOL |

no, you're alright. don't go to any (ahem) efforts on my account, i'd rather you didn't bother, please god, don't |

Ahh how I like them people begging  unfortunately, it works because there’s a soul behind this sample chopping serial with a kitchen knife… it’s ok, briENsKi. I like to turn the conflict energy into a creative outbreak but I also like new faces and you already did such a great job on this one ;-P I’ll engage somebody else next time. If it’s another account of yours, just know it wasn’t intended LMAO |
