Hello everyone, I have been amazed at the generosity of Queenzone people over the years sharing their stuff. I don't have that much to be honest but i have recently embarked on transferring what i do have from cassette to WAV and FLAC files. I recorded Knebworth, Astoria 90, Smile 92 and this Brian May gig but only the last two MIGHT be considered an improvement on what you have already got. I have also got master audio tapes from an audience source of Milton Keynes 82 (although i didn't tape this myself) but i dont think i'm allowed to share that one. So here it is - I hope you all enjoy it. Brian is a little croaky in this one. It was recorded from the 1st floor balcony on an Aiwa HS-J170 onto four sides of TDK D60's. I lost the original microphone that came with the device but i found that it would still record - in stereo - if i plugged the headphones into the microphone jack. The headphones were dangling over the balcony so there wasn't much seperation between them. From there it sat in the cupboard for nearly 20 years. Then I transfered it to PC using Audacity on a Panasonic RX-FT510. I removed the tape hiss then added some bassboost and normalisation. Kind regards |

Wow. Thanks VERY much. Not just for uploading it but, far more importantly, for having the balls to record it in the first place :) |

I recorded Knebworth, Astoria 90, Smile 92 and this Brian May gig but only the last two MIGHT be considered an improvement on what you have already got. thanks for sharing, any chance to share the remaining concerts - even if it's not an upgrade, always a pleasure to listen to different sources, esp. Knebworth would be much appreciated by many collectors if it's a new unshared audience source... |

Don't worry about cleaning them up - there are a couple of people on this forum who are masters at cleaning up audio... Thanks :) |

You're all very welcome. As i say, it's a small gesture in appreciation of all those selfless people who have put a great deal of time and effort in bringing us some stunning recordings over the years. I'd name names but for fear of forgetting someone important, i won't. We all know who they are. I did think about leaving the files in their raw format as i know there are some geniuses out there when it comes to audio clean-ups. Having just listened to this show again on headphones, I think I may have forgotten to remove hiss from the first part but nevertheless, i'm quite pleased with the overall quality. I'll have a think about Knebworth - it really isn't that brilliant and cuts out halfway through TYMD due to all the jumping about. It then restarts again halfway through AKOM. It then ends mid-way through Radio Ga Ga and contains a lot of my singing, chatting and general swearing (i was only 16 at the time). I'll listen to it again and let you know. I will upload the Smile show before too long. Regards. |

I'm not downloading, but still want to thank you for taping and sharing! Cool to read your taper stories. Great too that you attended (and taped) Knebworth as a 16 y/o! Enjoy listening to that again! |

Great idea with the dual sound DVD though. |

Kind regardsI usually don't collect solo concert, but I think I'll try this one, thanks :-) Regarding Knebworth - I am a huge Knebworth fanatic :-) Is there any chance that you could share your recording ? If you recorded it from a different point than "Crazy S", it would be interesting to mix the two together. Also, did you record only Queen ? Because I'm interested in the opening bands too. Or did you take any photos ? |

Could you at least post a small sample of your copy so I can do a comparison? Sorry, these requests are bound to happen when you express yourself so much :-) Thanks for the Brian show ! |

Thank You so very much for this alternate source, I Would love to hear your other recordings, if you wouldn't mind sharing, as other people have said, it's great to have various alternate sources of recordings, no matter what quality & as Brians Wig says, the recordings can be cleaned up ect. Many Thanks Again. |

I have no requests (all requests have already been done:-) but I'm delighted with your post. So amazing to find out there are so many recordings in existence. Each and every one of those is precious to me..because it's always a unique perspective of the happenings on stage... Thanks a lot for your share of the Brian show and the information about your other recordings! |
