I'll probably order it online, wait for it to arrive, open the packaging and put it in the recycling, open the DVD box (Blu Ray if it is coming on that, but I don't think so) and walk over to my TV to switch it on, take out the disc, open the tray on my DVD player, put it inside, press play and then watch it. Almost certainly in that precise order. |

Concurrent to the viewing experience, I'll eat said sandwich, taking reasonable bites and pacing myself according to necessary chewing times, which may vary. |

I hope it materializes soon and I also hope it'll be the first of several seventies shows... There's some potential for great seventies releases there! |

In short, they talk a lot, they give a lot of promise, but in the end nothing happens. And we still believe in fairytales and we believe in miracles. Naive kids. That's what thinks about us mighty QPL. Jim Beach said both documentaries You can anything you like with my music, my image, my life anything..... It seems that this is happening |

Radiohead, Muse, Arcade Fire, Black Keys, Cat Empire, Metric There are literally millions of artists out there. Instead of wasting your time saying everything sucks, spend that time looking for decent music. Find online radio stations like these: link link There are 40-something channels on the latter. Plenty of good music, and not just rock. The diversity of the "world" station is unbelievable. Then suddenly the status of a pending DVD of a band who have been largely inactive for the last 20 years won't be so much of a concern. |

Rick wrote: So many other bands to discover! My interest in Queen (and their products) has never been so low.Yep. Queen is dead for me for many years now. At least we get a few new audience recordings from time to time. Anyway, IF they release it, I WILL buy it. If they won't, I don't really care anymore. There are so many different amazing bands |
Hangman_96 20.03.2013 12:31 |
After all, Queen is still the best band for me. But the way QP treat us makes me lose my interest somewhat. If they'll release something interesting, well, that's fine. But if they won't, I don't give a fuck. I'm just literally fed up of being given either some stupid releases or nothing at all. If they don't want to lose their fans they should release that goddamn Rainbow FFS! Subsequent releases should either contain something worth giving a look, not some remastered discographies or a 1000th re-release of Wembley. Until we're fed up with nice releases, all that shit should be turned down. |
Kevinrm15 20.03.2013 13:47 |
Exactly, even getting into older active bands is good too. Or possibly finding a new interest in a band that isn't around anymore like The Police. Last time I listened to them was like 6 years ago. Started looking at their catalog and I came across a box set of theirs that looks interesting. Bruce Springsteen is usually good at delivering goods, though you may have a 5 year gap but I guarantee it's worth it! There might be a new box set out later this year or sometime next year. Tom Petty had a good active streak going in that department too. I thought the reissue for Damn the Torpedoes was perfect. I'm sure Queen will catch up soon enough, but I won't base my life around it... It also helps to have a good social life in reality. Ever since I TRULY put my friends before music we have never been as close as we are right now. And it's been a real satisfying feeling. Infact, I almost forgot about this Rainbow project. Oops! Silly me! |
dowens 20.03.2013 16:46 |
Funny, I'm just starting to get into The Beatles. Call me a late bloomer. I do wish Queen would release some archive stuff. And Wizard, thanks for the recommendations! Checking out Black Keys right now. |
Your Fairy King 20.03.2013 19:28 |
I won't buy it. I'm going to await for the 50th Anniversary Deluxe Remastered Live at the Rainbow edition, |
rocknrolllover 20.03.2013 23:48 |
And yet I hope that this year they will release on DVD concert at the Rainbow. And the fact that the group is not active now don't give the right not to release archive material. |

There are so many different amazing bands All the big bands have released boxsets, but Queen, one of the biggest bands on the planet, has not. A downright shame. In fact, it's utterly frustrating to be a Queen fan. I'm sure there some amazing things are lying around in the vaults, but when will they see the light of day? Instead, we get the umpteenth Wembley release, or another GH compilation. The last decent release, to me, is the Milton Keynes concert, because it was something we hadn't seen nor heard before in that format. An astonishing nine years ago... |
mooghead 21.03.2013 16:42 |
" IF they release it, I WILL buy it" Not referring to The Rainbow specifically but there are far too many Queen fans with this attitude so why would Queen release new stuff? I wouldn't if I was them, I would keep selling the same old stuff to the usual mugs. Stop buying stuff you already have. Expect new Queen stuff within a year. |
tomchristie22 22.03.2013 05:29 |
I appear to be the only one who doesn't hold a sense of entitlement to unreleased material. Queen ceased to function in any full capacity as a band 20 years ago. If they release things, I'm immensely happy. If they don't, I don't really give a crap. |

I think it'd be good for their reputation to release some stuff from the seventies. I'm especially interested in the live stuff: Imagine Queen releasing a couple of shows from the seventies - just audio - from different tours (and also releasing it in a box with (maybe) even more goodies), for example: - Golders Green 1973 - Rainbow March 31, 1974 - Earls Court 07/06/1977 - Los Angeles 22/12/1977 (how I wish they have this in quality good enough to release, even if only stereo soundboard tapes) - Paris 01/03/1979 - Hammy'79 Wouldn't that be totally amazing??? I think the time is right now for such releases and I think many music fans would be stunned by the quality of QUeen's live shows in the seventies... |
tomchristie22 22.03.2013 20:48 |
It's true - the current state of official live releases isn't that great. Montreal and MK Bowl are great shows but they're just not as diverse or interesting musically. And I've seen too many people completely denounce Queen as a live act based solely on their performance at Wembley, which is very frustrating. |
AlexRocks 23.03.2013 10:05 |
There needs to be concerts that are just audio recordings and nothing to do with filmed ones that are released. I think it is ridiculous to only talk about just the filmed shows. |
Hangman_96 23.03.2013 15:53 |
on my way up wrote: I think the time is right now for such releases...I could say the same but it would be irrelevant, since QP tend to temporise and then announce "We're sorry guys, but nothing is going to happen. Maybe next time?" And that happens over and over and over and over and over and over again. For instance, they once promised to release Hammersmith '75. Excuse me, not once... it has been promised more than once! Has it been released yet? No. Who cares now? And Hammy '75 is not the only thing that's been promised a million times in total to be released; there have been many other concerts, boxed sets, CD's, DVD's, and so on. Each thing has had its time to be released, but they haven't let any of them go any further. |

There is still no definite release date for this product. How could there be: it isn't finished yet. The Press release that sparked this, was merely something put together by Eagle Rock for promo which was put out, mistakenly, a good deal too early. Rainbow WILL happen, but not this Spring. I couldn't tell you when because I don't know. Nobody knows. But we have to finish it first, and obviously we will. It is not unprecedented for a Press Release to go out early, at the wrong time, accidentally, and/or for it to contain misinformation... such as that the Rainbow concerts were "filmed". They were NOT filmed, they were shot on 2" video tape. Hope that helps. GB |
