I'm really looking forward to those Jacko/Queen tracks. It would be great to hear Freddie's voice back on the radio. Its about time the latest generation was inculcated with the great Mr Mercury. Beats all that rap sh!t and diva doo doo they usually listen to. |

From what we know and can infer: Aug 28 - American re-release of GVH 1&2 - NOTE not blu-ray, just DVD and nothing special - standard re-release. I haven't heard of any bluray greatest flix at all. Sept 3 - Barcelona Re-release Sept 13 (Oct 2 in US) Freddie Mercury: A Life In Pictures Sept 20 (and additional) - Hungarian Rhapsody in movie theatres. Sept 24 - The Great Pretender home release Sept 30 - USA airing Great Pretender on A&E Oct ? - BBC airing Great Pretender Oct? - Possible unknown release as stated by QOL administrator who was chasing down what was happening with it. Nov - Hungarian Rhapsody blu ray/dvd Roger Taylor New Album - Early 2013 Q+MJ tracks - Hopefully during 2013 Rainbow - Working on...*shrug* Unknown release at this time. |

soxtalon wrote: Roger Taylor New Album - Early 2013How's that? It was said it would be released in November this year. |
soxtalon 29.08.2012 07:41 |
It was never said that definitively. In an interview Roger said that November was what he was shooting for. Then QOL administrator said November was a possible date at one point as he was trying to slide it in between some Queen product. At that time he also added that if it wasn't November it'd be early next year. Then, just recently he came on and stated pretty frankly that it would be early next year. |

The LP of Barcelona has been put back to the 10th, so I expect the entire release will get put back and that therefore is likely to have a knock-on effect for the book and (as stated above) BD. Frankly, 26 years experience tells me it wouldn't be a "Queen" release without some form of delay. I'd hate for them to organise a piss-up in a brewery.... |

O.k. wow when has Roger Taylor said anything anywhere?! Secondly that's reall sad that Roger Taylor cannot get his project off the ground this year. That means that there will probably not be a new Queen studio l.p. next year and that makes me really mad. I wish Brian would do a new solo studio l.p. and tour...not just whatever with Kerry Ellis which was great but just wish he would do his own thing while Queen are not. Secondly there never was an attempt to re-release any of the "Greatest Flix" music home videos. I myself don't even know for sure if the upcomming music home video of their hits of "short promotional films" is the same music home video release of "Greatest Video Hits 1 & 2" as before but I think that that is what those are that are getting the re-release treatment but without bonus features...or something, right? |

I didn't see about the LP but it wouldn't surprise me either...I'm just going by all the information I'd seen on QOL and various store release dates :) As for Roger. He first made mention during an interview in Poland before Wroclaw with Adam Lambert. I don't remember the exact quote but someone asked him about new material and he said he had a solo album that he'd been working on for a few years now and that he was shooting for November. There has never been any discussion as far as I know to do a Queen album. The only talk about it has been from the media when THEY asked Adam whether he would want to record an album with Queen and Adam mentioned that he wouldn't turn anything down. There has been nothing at all from the Queen camp. Brian has almost unequivocally stated he didn't want to do solo albums anymore and he doesn't believe his voice would stand up for a tour with him as a frontman so you won't see a Brian solo album. The upcoming release is GVH1 and 2 in one package. |

There has been nothing at all from the Queen camp. Except of course when last year it was reported that Brian and Roger were going back in the studio try to see if they could scrape up enough tapes with Freddie singing to make one more album. The project was then aborted a couple of weeks later. Shame, but maintaining quality would need to be the number one priority in such a project. Mind you. i don't think it should rule out an album of demos and offcuts for the more extreme fans. In that case it wouldn't matter if things weren't quite up to past standards. |
soxtalon 29.08.2012 10:35 |
No. That was another case of media extrapolation. The band never said they were going to try to do another album. That's what the media made out when the band said something to the effect of they found a few tapes in the drawers and honestly most of the time if you put 1+1 together it seemed as if the band were talking about the FM/MJ tapes. They mentioned found tapes (intimating FM/MJ) -> Media: Queen looks to make Made In Heaven 2 basically -> Band says oh no there's not enough material to do something like that. So the band has never said they were going to do a new LP. They only ever said two things: 1. They were adding things to the FM/MJ tracks. 2. They always work together on stuff. Just no intention on what to do with stuff. They've been working together on "stuff" since 1999, |

I'd like to see Roger do an album with Treana Morris; it's be worth it to see Brian's face when it pisses all over Kerry Ellis' shouty output |

No QOL was talking about this: Greatest Video Hits It is a North American release only Press Release from QOL: GVH1/2 Box Set To Hit North America on August 28th! Queen Release Greatest Video Hits on DVD in North America August 28th Sees The Best of Queen's 70s and 80s Promo Videos Get Released in 2-disc Box SetL isted here on Amazon.comThis 2-disc set packages many of Queen’s classic promotional videos into 1 package for the first time. The 33 videos on display have gone through video restoration and received a DTS Surround Sound mix, along with commentary from Brian May and Roger Taylor.Disc 1 spotlights Queen in the 1970’s, when the music video began to emerge. This collection highlights some of their most beloved tracks, from “Bohemian Rhapsody”, “Another One Bites The Dust”, “We Will Rock You” & “We Are The Champions”. From the freezing backyard shoots of “We Will Rock You” and “Spread Your Wings”, to the visual masterpiece that accompanies “Bohemian Rhapsody”, Queen was already showing off the various ways that they visually wanted to represent their music. Disc 2 shows the masterwork of Queen in the 1980’s, from 1982’s Hot Space album through 1989’s The Miracle. With the advent of MTV in the US, Queen proved that they could be as creative visually as they were on record. From the Metropolis-themed video for “Radio Ga Ga”, the spoofing of Coronation Street in “I Want To Break Free” (which would be banned from the network) and the band being replaced by children in “The Miracle”, Queen put their stamp on the music video in the best way they knew how: by doing something new and different each time. Nothing about a UK release I'm afraid. |

I have long since stopped having any faith in Queen products.I prefer to spend my cash on Muse,Phonics,Priest,Journey,Purple and others, who release good stuff for their fans. When Roger does release his solo album,i will buy but i don't lose any sleep waiting. |

Re: Queen Video Hits DVD... "...video restoration and received a DTS Surround Sound mix". More like 'video demolition' (cropped to 16:9 AR in glorious NTSC 480 60i) and '4.1 DTS minus the centre channel'. How we envy you USA ! |
