even if it was - I doubt they would have access to the film --> it was probably digitized from the video tape.
Still -- the quality of the broadcast may be better than most VHS transfers...i would think.
If anybody have recorded this it would be great if it was made available. I have Magic Years and Champions of the World on VHS. But I never watch them anymore.
Sky Arts HD is encrypted and unless you've got an expensive HD capture card in your PC that also accepts a Sky Card, you can't record this stuff.
I know SOMEONE can, because last years Alice Cooper concert was uploaded in HD, but...

Hang on. This is a link to a clip to a streaming internet video.
Why on earth would you even think that THIS represents the quality of the actual TV broadcast?
The video quality of the broadcast 'should' be better than any laserdisc or VHS release because it 'should' have been sourced from a 625 line PAL video tape. If the upscaling has been done correctly by Sky, then there's no reason why it shouldn't look as good on an HDTV as the normal SD version would on an SDTV.
Either way, the upscale should look better than the SD simulcast on normal Sky Arts when viewed on an HDTV.
Obviously it's NOT going to look like an HD picture though and anyone expecting as much will be very disappointed.

This programme is essentially a TV edit of the 'Champions Of The World' video, with some sections edited partially or completely. However, some elements have been moved, some additional footage has been added, and it now has a narrator
Great, thanks for the clarification. I think the Champions documentary is the best I've seen. I enjoyed the recent Days of Our Lives, but still think Champions is better.
Enough with documentaries, let's get some more music!!!
