Adam returned to AI tonight and lit up the stage with a fresh song from his new album. The crowd loved it and he looked pumped. He is still one of the best idols to rock that stage. Nailed it! |

I find it interesting that anything that has to do with Adam Lambert, even if it really has nothing to do with Queen directly, gets posted on here. I guess that means AL really has become sort of a part of Queen, even if a lot of people don't like it that way. I'll take your word for it on the performance. |

Hey, queenUSA... stop littering! I don't think this belongs in the Queen - General Discussion section. |

I do not give a crap about Adam Lambert solo stuff. |

Then don't post if it doesn't affect you. Or if you insist on using up everyone's bandwidth, at least post something to add to the discussion, which is the very purpose of a forum. Your comment did nothing to improve the quality of the thread. Someone is clearly trying to show all the naysayers that Lambert does have a shred of talent. Let them. |

No interest in the performance, I'm waiting to see how the Queen stuff turns out. Being that I liked his early Idol performances more than when he guested with Brian and Roger, I wonder if it's not something to do with what element he's in. Same as Kerry Ellis really belonging in WWRY and basically not sounding 'right' fronting a full band. |

Even though I am not really keen on Adam Lambert & to be honest the ONLY reason I'm going to 2 of the 3 Hammersmith gigs is purely to see Brian & Roger, you have to admit that Adam will most likely sing some of the Queen Tracks that Paul Rodgers would not even attempt. Don't get me wrong I would rather see Paul R "anyday" with Queen than Adam Lambert, but with the 2005/2006/2008 tours Paul's Queen song choice was a bit "same old, same old" Nothing wrong with that, & the song choice really fitted Paul's "Bluesy" vocal range(& a great singing voice he had) but back to Adam Lambert, I would imagine we might get some tracks like "Killer Queen" (I mean, when was the last time you heard Brian & Roger, do Killer Queen?) So I for one, am looking forward to the chance of some "Rarely Played-these days" tracks, so if Adam Lambert helps bring these to the table, good luck. I'll be able to tell you if he sucks after the first Hammy gig. |

Thanks queenUSA for the heads up, I and many others will look out for this on TV or the internet. Given some of the topics on here I don't think anyone can complain about a vocalist who is about to front Queen being on this general discussion section. |

If its that "Never Close Our Eyes" song ur referring to. Eh, its okay. Kinda sounds like a Journey song pitched down a peg or a late 90's pop song by the Scorpions when u look at the verses. I don't see how he "rocked it", but it was more characteristically "rock" than most of the pop keyboard garbage I've seen on that show (I watched for two weeks while hanging with my friend and his wife) I remember seeing the look of volatile shame on Steven Tyler's face when he had to sit through one such piece of shiP. I knew in the back of his mind he kept picturing the money....the money. |

adam lambert doing solo covers should be in a different forum imo |

I am listening to the album right now. It is not my piece of cake, and I do listen to a lot of pop music, including new releases I hear every single day on BBC Radio One. Anyway, he does have a great voice and I hope for the very best on his collaboration with B+R. Cheers, Ogre- |

Shortly before this thread was made, david (galashiels) made a thread suggesting that there be a new forum specifically for Queen+Adam Lambert related topics. That's actually a good idea. Also, brenski, nice |

I downloaded (illegally - what the hell!) his two albums and promptly deleted them. What the hell Brian & Roger see in him is beyond me. It's not stopping me going to one of the shows though and he 'might' surprise us all and be quite good. Got to give him a decent chance to prove himself crap or otherwise and besides, wouldn't it be nice if Brian & Roger played a load of songs they didn't play with Paul Rodgers? I'd put up with AL just to hear non 'greatest hits' songs, especially if they do a load of songs from the first 3 albums! |

the whole AL thing is easy to work out (btw - i'm posting this in a couple of other threads to see if it can stimulate real discussion) brian & roger are being nothing more than calculating. AL's star is on the ascendancy, so they've hitched a ride to try and get some "sales" in america. problem is, they had a "sales" share in the UK already, and this whole "project" will doom their UK reputation beyond repair. I can see a bad day coming for BM & RT when AL (the manufactured pop star) decides that they are doing "his" career and reputaiton harm by association....that day AL will ditch Queen and the dignity legacy and reputation of a once-great band will once and for all be damaged, dumped on and destroyed beyond recognition....serves them right |

Hey guys, there are plenty of people who are fans of Queen, adore Freddie Mercury, and are also fans of Adam Lambert. (We are Queenberts...just a little levity !) Adam is doing a few gigs with Brian and Roger, it's not earth-shattering. For people who have never heard Adam sing live, remember this: Hot Space. Remember how different Staying Power was at Milton Keynes vs. the recording? I like both versions but I think most people would agree that live is completely different, and much better. Same is true for Adam. Freddie was a lover, not a hater. Peace : ) |
Mack_Ireland 23.05.2012 15:35 |
melina67: Couldn't agree more. I'm not able to go to the London shows but I really hope AL works out - I was not a fan of Q+PR (nobody but Freddie!) but...if BM and RT want to perform I'd choose AL over PR because his voice is closer to Fred's in range and tone without being a tribute act. And before someone takes a swipe at me because I post rarely 1) Someone has to listen (read) or there is no point talking (writing) - I do my fair share of listening to others on this great forum 2) I've been a Queen fan since before many here were even born and even had the great pleasure of seeing their Majesties play at Wembley in 1986 - I've earned the right to hold my opinion; just like you have! Hope they play some of the less often/never performed stuff - Dragon Attack / Machines (or 'Back To Humans') / Flash / The Show Must Go On. A Live double CD of the shows would be a pre-order item for me! |
tomchristie22 24.05.2012 01:50 |
I wouldn't call The Show Must Go On 'less performed' at all. Since they played it with AL at that award thing, I don't see why they wouldn't this time. We'll have to wait and see. |
