QUEEN – ABSOLUTELY ENTHUSIASTIC (Workoholic Extasy In Far East) (TFKRL9002, 1st press vinyl bootleg from 1990) 1985-05-11, Tokyo, Yoyogi National Gymnasium (probably FM Recording) Matrix numbers: Side A: TFKRL-9002-A Side B: TFKRL-9002-2-B Side C: TFKRL-9002-2-C Side D: TFKRL-9002-2-D Sound quality: A (or even better!) Hardware used: Denon DP47f turntable Denon DL160 cartridge Project Phonobox SE II preamp Creative Audigy 2 ZS for analog to digital conversion (with Creative ASIO 24bit/96kHz driver) Software used: Sony Sound Forge 9.0a for capturing and editing iZotope RX Advanced 2.02 for any declicking needed (all done manually) iZotope RX Advanced 2.02 for azimuth adjustment iZotope RX Advanced 2.02 for noise (hiss) reduction iZotope RX Advanced 2.02 for converting to 16bit/44.1kHz (CD version) Traders Little Helper for Wave to Flac conversion and SBE correction (CD version only) MP3tag for tags Track list: Tear It Up Tie Your Mother Down Under Pressure Somebody To Love Killer Queen Seven Seas Of Rhye Keep Yourself Alive Liar (full version!) Instrumental Inferno It's A Hard Life Dragon Attack Now I'm Here Is This The World We Created...? Love Of My Life Another One Bites The Dust Mustapha (intro) Hammer To Fall Crazy Little Thing Called Love Bohemian Rhapsody Radio Ga Ga I Want To Break Free Jailhouse Rock We Will Rock You We Are The Champions God Save The Queen This is a vinyl rip of the ‘Absolutely Enthusiastic’ album from the ‘The Famous Killers Rhythm Label’ (TFKRL 9002), done in high resolution 24bit/96kHz and a version converted to 16bit/44.1kHz (CD quality). This version of the LP is a first press from 1990 on black vinyl (later pressings were on colored vinyl), and has a complete version of ‘Liar’. Compared to other CD bootlegs this one has a much clearer sound, with less distortion and a better stereo image. If you rate the sound quality of the common CD bootlegs A, this one should be A+ rating. The vinyl itself is in excellent condition, no scratches, stains or hairlines. However, bootleg LP’s are mostly not pressed in the same quality as ‘normal’ LP’s, and this one is no exception. There are some clicks and crackles and these are all manually removed with iZotope RX. The azimuth was slightly off, this was also corrected with iZotope RX, resulting in a better stereo sound. The recording also had a lot of noise (hiss) (it’s also present on the other bootlegs), so this is most likely a source problem. I did some noise reduction with iZotopeRX, watching carefully that no music got lost. This means there is still some noise/hiss, but not so annoying as it was. I have included photos from the front and back cover and scans from all four labels. Please note: both the back cover and the label place ‘Liar’ on side B, in reality it’s the last song on side A. Please forgive me my poor English writing skills and enjoy this beautiful concert! Torrent for 16/44 CD version in the next post. |

Some vinyls of this show do have a complte different edit of this show and dif sound compared to the official video release. Was this show broadcasted (live?) on the japanese radio? Was there a vinyl with the guitar solo included? Time for queen homework. Good share! Thnx |

ThnxI’ve no exact idea where this particular version comes from. If you look at the spectrum from the 24/96 you’ll notice there’s not a lot going on above 20 kHz. So I guess this was recorded from FM radio and later transferred to LP. But it’s guessing. Maybe The Real Wizard can give some info… I've never seen a heard of a complete version of this show. |

Listened to this this morning on my laptop (16/44.1 version)and can say one thing, it's not that different from my previous version from Le Fleur Du Mal. In fact one thing is certain either Le Fleur Du Mal is sourced from a copy of this LP or from the same tape source. I say this because the same two glitches on Le Fleur Du Mal (speed issues on the tape maybe) on the instrumental inferno and at the end of Bohan Rhap are also on this version. Bob, can you add more? |

Would be interested to compare it to Bob's pre bootleg source :-) |

Rick wrote: Thanks! Is your name derrived from the quote featured in the Pink Floyd song Us and Them? No, I took it from 'shortsharpshock' EP from the Northern Ireland band Therapy?. Maybe they were inspired by that song? Later I discovered that quote in Us and Them too. Damn good song from a fantastic album!! |
