Hi fellow Queen fans!
When it comes to covering a Queen song, I'm the first to point out anything thats wrong with it! I'm a huge Queen fan!
That's why me and my band spent a whole year in our little recording studio working on our cover of Bohemian Rhapsody.
We aimed to get as close to the original as possible! And let's face it, when it comes to doing covers, this is the BIG one lol
Any way, here it is: link
We hope you like it! Please comment, subscribe and share!
If anybody knows Brian or Roger, tell them to give it a listen haha :)
Dave
Thanks guys! ...I can assure you that there was no autotune used at all, we're very much against it!! We believe that if you can't sing in tune then you may as well not sing at all lol :)
so what vocal effects are you using then?
because there's definitely some phasing (or such)
listen to 1:22 to 1:28
which sounds not unlike what you'd get out of
antares autotune or celemony melodyne
apols for being "picky" but, you appear to sing "mama, LOVE had just begun"
..you do know it's "LIFE" ?
No worries matey :) Of course lol I've been working on it for a year, I know it backwards haha :) If someone else had done this cover then I would be picking at it too lol
The only vocal effects that we use are compression, eq, delay and a touch of reverb. The phase sound at 1:22 - 1:28 is Dan (our singer) doubling himself in the chorus :)
Would it be asking too much if we requested to see screencaps of all the VST/rack plugins and settings used on the final mix, to verify your claim no autotuning was used at all?
Hi inu-liger,
First of all please let me apologize for all the comments made by our management on the youtube vid, we had no idea they were going to do something like that! I'll remove all the comments just to keep things clean and tidy :)
We don't want things to get ugly, what would freddie think eh! lol
I've tried to attach a screen cap of the mixer window with all the plugins, as it shows that compression, EQ and reverb were the only effects used :)
I'll try and upload the audio of just the vocals as well :)
Best regards,
Dave
Here's the audio of just the vocals, with effects on. Granted, the first chorus does sound like its auto tune, but its just dan doubling up, you can hear in some places that both takes aren't exactly the same. I don't know any other way to prove that there is no autotune anywhere on this song! :)
Thank you. Although your second file link didn't work there (our forum has many bugs, unfortunately), the PNG file did work, and I think it's highly suffice enough to back your claim.
I've retracted my comment likewise in kind. I wasn't expecting your (rather unprofessional) management however to respond in the manner that they did, which I felt was very uncalled for. I really hope you will consider a change in management after what they hurled at me there! I do accept your apology in any case.
