I'm not holding my breath. Well over half of the bootlegs released these days are sourced from material already available on this website for free.
For Queen specifically, Tarantura is the only label that consistently comes up with new things. Wardour and Uxbridge sometimes do, but the rest are cashing in on downloads, with very rare exceptions.
I like Wardour's output quite a bit: They usually do their best to get either the best versions of shows, or EQ the sound to improve it. Like on Milan 1984, they actually took the time to take multiple sources, and clean them up to present the best version.
Tarantura is great, but I hate the loudness war/sound compression they do!
I agree. Tarantura do go well over the top. It actually spoils & makes it unlistenable for me after 10 minutes..What a pity, because the source tapes are obviously great. Not just the Queen stuff either.. I'm sure we'd all like to hear the Mr Peach recordings 'as they were' so to speak.
This box set is interesting though.. The bootleg label is apparently linked with 4REEL..And they've come up with some brilliant master sources for the likes of The Who & The Stones..We'll have to wait & see. My hunch is that Bob will probably be right though.. By the way..How come your The Real Wizard now? What happened to Sir GH? You turn your back for two minutes..Actually, maybe 2 years...
