Has anyone seen the quote on Brian's website, taken from an interview he gave at the Classic Rock awards where he says that he is disappointed by the way The Beatles' Estate is managed, and he doesn't think that their music is represented very well to a younger audience?
Now that is the worst case of 'pot calling the kettle black' I have ever heard!!!
He spot on, The Beatles were foools to stay off iTunes there music passed by almost a generation as a result, I will never understand that decision, why would you stop your work moving to the most popualr format for the public to buy it.
As a result I dont think they knew how to get it out there, they have struggled with this for the past 10 years or more with only really one notable release in the outtakes. They finally started to get there act together in the past couple of years, but no I would say they missed a trick, and a big one.
As for Queen, well one thing they have always done well is reach new generations, it is frankly startling that 20 years after Freddie they as almost more popular then when he was alive... someone's doing something right.
