;)
Oh and i posted the title deliberately in keeping with the monikers. Queen+
So, there ya have it. Confirmation of a continuing discussion on another forum. At least...CONFIRMATION THAT THE RECORDINGS WILL HAVE BEEN COMPLETEDby next year.
Glad to know it. I enjoyed the leaked demos...and noticed that State Of Shock was ABSOLUTELY better with Freddie.
looking forward to it.
Yes, Roger has just said on the "Jo whiley show", that they have just the 2 tracks "State of Shock" & "There Must Be More To Life Than This"
So in a Nutshell, nothing that we have not heard already, but will still be nice to hear them with the "Queen" Treatment.
Personally, I was hoping for some more unheard Freddie/Jacko tracks, say "Victory" maybe, but no :-(

Hey hey, lay off the JACKO stuff... the only JACKO was an Australian import tv character...
Well. Greg Brooks stated quite clearly and catagorically at the UK Queen Convention in 2001 that "Victory" existed and had some lovely backing vocals by the boys on it.
So. What about that one then???

Or maybe, just maybe someone mis-heard what Greg had actually said (UNLESS someone has a solid audio bootleg recording to prove or disprove us otherwise!) and reported what they THOUGHT they'd heard, and this 'info' was taken like it was straight from the Holy Grail. Has anyone stopped to consider that?
This is at least the third time I've repeated this, and I think I have video to back me up on this, Peter Freestone told me personally earlier this summer that "Victory" categorically did NOT feature any other Queen members but Freddie on that demo. And he WAS there when those demos were made at MJ's residence, even playing "bass drum" himself on the Victory demo (Peter, that is).
If you guys would start spreading this more accurate info, that would save me repeated typing :-)
The article also states there working on demo tracks recorded with freddie??? And release a album next year??? This is news to me? Is this Queen Forever??? John Forever also??? as he must have been on the orignal demos, lets wait and see..........opps lets wait wait wait wait wait wait..............................Its all to late.
I was in the studio when Michael Jackson wanted to do "Don't let Your Son Go Down on me". Freddie turned to him and said, "But we're pop stars, not priests, dear". It was a little tense after.

Well. I was at that convention and a few before and every one since, and believe me, that IS what Greg Brooks said.
Infact, he said it was the only Jacko track that Queen had in their archives at that time (though I don't know whether to believe that or not)
Now, I'm not doubting Peter's memories, but it's always possible that the "Victory" demo/idea was deemed good enough that the band wanted to work on it themselves, hence a version in the Queen archives that has their backing vocals on.
Either that or, as you say, Greg Brooks was lying. It's always possible as he once denied ever saying something on here, but was then disproved when the audio recording was produced!
Unfortunately no audio recording exists for that archive session, so who knows?
If you know Freddie Van Der Veek (is that his name?), perhaps you could ask him for confirmation, as I think he took notes at every archive session Greg did.
Andreas Voight might have as well.

It's Freddie van ter Beek. He's well known at the forum Queenvrienden.nl.
