Hello Everybody, With it being twenty years next month since Freddie died. I have just written and recorded a song about Freddie. Don't worry, it's not too graphic and certainly not cheesy. It is about how I felt after He died, and about how the press hounded Him in His final years.
For those that are too young to remember, even though there was rumours and the announcement the night before He died, that He had AIDS, It still came as a great shock when it was announced He died the following day.
I was fortunate to see Queen live six times all in all. The first time as a 17 year old at Elland Road Leeds in 1982. Then four nights in a week on the 'QueenWorks' tour, the first time indoors with Queen and I know this tour has been slated, but to have been there was truly incredible. The last time I saw them was in 86 at Manchester, unfortunately, not a good experience, cos I was too far away and couldn't hear or see them properly.
The song isn't meant to sound like Queen, nor Freddie, haha, If only I could. But with the 20th anniversary coming up, I wanted to do something creative for it.
I hope you like it, having said that, I do think it will take quite a few listens. You can download it, too, it's totally free. I also would welcome any feedback either good or bad. Also if people think what I have done is wrong, then I apologise. I am a massive Queen fan, the best band ever IMO. Because all 4 of them were the best at what they did, in other bands, they usually had a weak link, Queen didn't.
Many thanks to those that listen, download and reply.
