The piece was signed for the doorman of a Liverpool hotel where the band were staying so it was signed at leisure and is a stunning example of the stars autographs.
Really?
Because it looks like a pretty cheap looking item. The Queen font, for example, looks like something a High School Art Student would design, it's not official in any way. Signed at leisure? I'd say DE-signed at leisure!!! (Thank you!)
So the doorman had this fabricated in the hopes that Queen would stay at his job one day... and Bam! Lo and behold, there they are AND he just happened to keep it in his trunk just in case they ever showed up.
Someone bought me a very, very similar item for Christmas a couple of years ago, thinking I would like it. It wasn't signed, because it was a fairly new-ish and unnofficial product, normally sold at places like "stuff" (a high street store which specialises in cheap prints, drinking games, smoking pararphanalia etc) and local markets.
Wow, this doorman won a lot of academy awards!
Also, I love Ebay autograph auctions that come with a "certificate of authenticity"
"Angaben zum Verkäufer certifies this autografs is 100% authentic".
The Font used on this is actually the original font used in the Queen Crest of 'A Day At The Races' and is in fact the official Tour memorabillia book from the mid to late 70s..
The Autographs also look very genuine, written in ballpoint pen (those silver markers and such were just being introduced back then)
I'd say genuine thing. link
