i know its a stupid question, but it happens to me sometimes and i know im not the only one!
to me, the songs are:
these are the days of our lives
mother love
bohemian rhapsody(live+paul rodgers)
im sure theres more, i just cant recall at the moment.
anyway, let me know if this happens to you guys to
Delilah
Body Language
Get Down Make Love
It almost made me cry to realise the person who wrote Somebody to Love, Bo Rhap, Millionaire Waltz, Love of My Life, etc. came up with such shite.
It's going to be the most "popular" answer - These Are The Days Of Our Lives, which gets me all the time. But I think the sadness is kinda synonymous witrh the video, because it was Freddie's last moments on camera....it's a beautiful song, but if you take away the fact that Freddie was dying and then remember the fact that it was a (John?) composition, it would probably just be a another song, and would maybe be matched by efforts like Save Me and Who Wants To Live Forever. Mother love is also only sad because we associate it with Freddie's passing - without that, it would be just another great Queen song. Are there actually *any* sad Queen songs when you take them for what they are and don't add the poignancy of Freddie's death?
great post. as for sad queen songs out of the freddie context, you're right. but there are songs the make me emotional on there own, mainly Save Me,Love Of My Life and Teo Torriate
Love of my life (the Brian may at Brixton version when he dedicates it to Freddie)
No one but you (the We Will rock you musical version with the dedications before it) ... every time!

hahaha ...good one! Those songs rather make me horny instead. Especially 'Delilah' .....when she pees all over my chippendale suit. :-)
TATDOOL, It was mine and my first girlfriends song.
I loved a Butterfly, seriously, ive cried so many times to that song, cos it reminds me of my family(I dont live with them anymore)
Love of my life (Brian May, Brixton '93). Heard it when it was first released and the dedication from Brian to Freddie was something special back than. Over the years Brian singing LOML in dedication of Freddie became a bit of a cliché but back in the early nineties when Freddie had just passed it was very moving....
this is a great post!! and in fact, for me delilah is the way that Freddie said goodbye (on his last album) to one of the things that he loved...the cats!
These are the days of our lives. Especially if i watch the video too.
Bijou also brought tears to my eyes when i saw Q+PR in Wembley Arena 2008 (The only time i saw the guys live). It was for me unexspected and a lovely thing to see Freddie there while Brian was playing.

I'm confused.... always thought Delilah was about Mary. Now I read it's about his cats. hmmm
The 'These Are The Days Of Our Lives' on Return of the Champions DVD, when it shows the four of them drinking the tea for some Bizarre reason also puts me in the mood. It was just unexpected i guess.
