Ok just got the second set of Queen remasters and..............The Game, Flash Gordon and Hot Space, What are they playing at. Live versions From Montreal Tokyo and Milton Keynes. Are we on some other planet, we already got these versions on cd and dvd. The only good thing from all 3 albums is "Its a beautiful day".........The Game. Good to hear this version, As Made in heaven is very interesting the find out were al the tracks came from etc. Maybe Made in Heaven will be better than these 3 releases.
So far best 2 Bonus Tracks.
1. Feelings Feelings.
2. A Human Body. (CD)
Agreed about Feelings Feelings, i think take 10 is far superior to take 9.
However, I think a little mention should be made to the acoustic take of Dreamer's Ball. It's a class version.
And the first take of Sail Away Sweet Sister, beautiful, and always an insight knowing Brian didn't have all the words.
THIS is the kind of stuff they should release, as well as unofficial Live shows, that version of Sheer Heart Attack is savage. :D
Agree on Feelings Feelings, Sister, etc etc ... but what about the Flash Gordon bonus tracks?
The Hero Revisited is fantastic, it sounds much much better than the original, and The Kiss and Football Fight early takes are like .. discovering new songs !
I said it somewhere else: all this early takes from the Flash Gordon sessions must be unveiled someday !
PLus the saound on the Game is fantastic. Coming Soon is amazing.
Bonus stuff for me is as expected. It was more to do with the remastering of the album songs than the bonus. They were added to make them seem more interesting to those who have them already. Plus they'll act as a benchmark for what might be expected in a future antholgies release imo.
Agreed that FG bonus tracks are excellent. I can understand though why folk would be upset at Montreal, Wembley and On Fire tracks.
Makka wrote: I love Feelings, Feelins. The bonuses should of been filled with more tracks like this. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ditto, even if we already had another take of it.
Feelings F would have prob just been one of those songs you tired of quickly and just flicked past like Man On The Prowl, or Who Need You. Nice at first then very average.
Album filler at best.
Freddies voice though is very good on it.
In fairness, I like Sail Away weet Sister take, but would have prefered no pauses.
Still have Coming Soon on repeat tho... and Need Your Lovin'
I really like the bonus live stuff on Hot Space. If you listen between the live versions of "Action This Day" and "Calling All Girls," there's a sweet vocal improv by Freddie before going into "Calling All Girls." Very clever to put that in, I love it. Man, Queen played some kick ass shows in Japan!!!
