may have said it before in a post but GUESS WHOS AN AUNTY ;D
brother and his girlfriend had a beautiful (and really chubby) baby boy, called jack :) "jack (somthing) daniel brown (daniel and a joke from when we joked about calling him "jack daniels" after the drink, lol)
he has beautiful blue eyes that search around the room like no ones buisness! and really chubby cheacks and alot of light brown hair considering he was born about a week ago! very well developed. has the tightest squeeze ever on a finger!
i cant put photos on im sorry but my brother dosent want any of us to put photos of him online at all, hes VERY protective of the little man! it was teh first time laura changed his clothes today to! (i was there)
anyway, im a proud aunty to a beautiful baby boy,
has anyone else here got a baby? if yes, their gorgeous aint they ;) and whats their names? how old are they? and in what relation to you are they?
Congratulations, darling! :D
This is probably awesome to be an aunty, isn't it?
I don't have babies though. Really don't have a time to make the one. Ha ha ha ;)
Would love my mrs to say she's ready for having kids, but not yet boo hoo :(
I have a two year old neice though, called Elizabeth, who is my sister's and is the cutest wee lassie I've ever seen, and three nephews (who are my sis in-law's) called Josh (14), Jake (10) and Jude (4).
congratulations
but i hope you realise his eyes aren't really seeing anyting "around the room" maybe some changes in light and dark etc....new babies see about 3 -4 feet initially i think...and this extends over the first few weeks of life link
What can my newborn actually see?
Babies are born with eyes that are ready to function immediately. Even premature babies can see at birth since the seeing elements of the eye are working by seven months of gestation. The body of a newborn may be small but its eyes are 70 percent of adult size.
A newborn baby's eyes are not great at focusing and the optimum distance for seeing an object is between eight and fifteen inches. This corresponds to the distance between the mother and child's face while breastfeeding - whether by design or accident is unknown but there is a good chance this ideal distance evolved because of breastfeeding.
Colour Vision
Newborn infants are fascinated by black-and-white contrast, not by all those lovely little pictures of Donald Duck and Jack and Jill going up the hill.
The ability to distinguish between different colours is probably not very good until at least three months of age. By age two months babies do notice colors of red. orange. green and yellow. and shortly thereafter are able to see blues. This is why newborns tend to become attracted to contrasts of dark and light rather than brightly colored objects and they prefer patterns with curved lines rather than straight. It is this fascination in light/dark contrasts that have made the black-and-white newborn mobiles and toys so popular.
