I dont know if this one was ever documented but i think there is a link. I for my shelf suffered from stress all my life and people i know who were more stressed than usual appreciate queens music. I think it reflects agony and presurre and angst and then relaese and letting all go. Songs like TSMGO, Innuendo and especially Scandal have a very deep connection with the mechanisms of heavy anxiety and the expression of it in a beautifful highily energetic, destroy everything and dont give a shit kind of way. Its sheer inner power agaist something not just negative, but something that comes to eat your heart out. Its a kind of crying for help but without exactly admiting your fear.Like screaming but without being weak or effeminate . I dont know if you get me... Also i think axniety was one (hidden?)thing Freddie and Brian had in common. Do you think Freddie had anxiety issues and was his bigger than life persona a way to deal with them?
Brian has often said that Freddie was shy but created a huge persona for the stage and that changing his name was the final piece of stepping into a new identity. I don't know if they had anxiety in common or not. Certainly stressful times were mentioned in interviews. I think a really hopeful song about the ups and downs of it all is their song "Doin Alright." If you're stressed, as indicated, you should try giving it a listen.
For the first 5 albums they were stressed about where their pay was coming from. For the next 9 albums they were worried about how much they could buy with their x-amount of millions :)
about a year ago i use to have depression to, mainyl from school, and what always broguth me back up was listening to brian mays solo album back to the light, you could always relate to the songs, and i know others with depression who take brian as an inspiration to, and to be fair he is an incredible roll model
