link At 11:40 -12:33? Is it Madison Square Garden 1977? It can't be Houston. |
Hangman_96 29.05.2011 19:36 |
Hmm, I doubt it's from MSG 1977. The first though that came to my head when I'd first seen it is that it was from Munich on May 3, 1978. It has the same video quality. So I think it's from Munich 1978. |
Doga 29.05.2011 19:59 |
From my point of view it's Houston from different camera angles. It's good to see that they didn't lost the master tapes Another question, this from the first part. Maybe is stupid but... link What stadium is from 00:54 to 0:55. It's Wembley? At least it didn't look like Wembley, maybe Cologne? |

The few hyde park footage has a great sound quality! (althohgh freddie's vocal track on bohemian rhapsody has much echoes) |

Rick 30.05.2011 03:25 |
It's not Houston. Look at John's position in both shots. |
Ghostwithasmile is BACK! 30.05.2011 03:37 |
I think it is Houston: but recorded from Bob Harris his film crew. Bob pointed me at the fact that the Houston video was taped because there were screens in the venue. With 3 camera's I believe more acts released a similar live dvd recorded in Houston. I belive Kiss but I am not sure about that one! As Bob Harris was traveling with the band at the time, it makes sense they asked for a copy of the summit's recordings for the documentary. @ Rick : john is positioned in front of the drums in both video's could you explain more specific ? |

link Part IV 6.23 mins. This shows that Queen has the footage from Veronica (tv station) Count Down (programm) a tiny bit from the Lex harding interview, these recordings were paired with the live Ahoy 1979 footage from WWRY fast (with DSN overdubbing) I wonder what more there is as for the japanese Jewels docu showed more tracks from this legendary concert.... |
Ghostwithasmile is BACK! 30.05.2011 03:46 |
link At 00.52 min is this from Tokyo 79 ? Roger hitting the gong ? At 00.53 -00.54 is the audience from WATC shoot ? You can see someone holding a WATC 7"single , i gues so ... |
Rick 30.05.2011 03:47 |
Hmm... the camera angle is a bit deceiving. Look at 12:00, Freddie grabs the mic's cable. At 12:08 it switches to the well-known shot and his left hand is still in the same position. It might be Houston after all. |

You can see someone holding a WATC 7"single , i gues so ... ====== Hitting the gong is from the US tour 1977. I can tell by the position of the Syndrums (three in a row and one above those three) + there is a section in the documentary about this tour, where this shot can be seen again. |

I noticed that the audio recording from Hyde Park was from the multi tracks as seen in part I at 10.45 mins. But the Earls Court audio still sounds like the video feed. Any thoughts ? |

The complete hyde park show.... well it is a better choice as EC because of the filming, better camera positions, more cameras compared to EC show. The boys really deliver at Hyde Park. Though it was a short show... shame they didn't do the encores. Would love to see them get arrested on stage during the medley by the policemen... I hope they will release as a doulbe dvd set with Hammy 75 : Queen "invites you to 2 nights at the opera" 2dvd set. |

ghostwithasmile wrote: link At 00.52 min is this from Tokyo 79 ? Roger hitting the gong ? ==== It doesn't look to me like 1979 at all. It's most likely something from NOTW tour, 1977 or 1978. |

Cmon....Hyde Park had the setlist Hammy should have had but for some reason they cut SO many songs at Hammy that they normally played on the tour...I think Hammy would make a shitty release honestly. It's just WAY to short. |
Ghostwithasmile is BACK! 30.05.2011 11:32 |
@ jamster You are a newbie or stepford ? What I am trying to say is that both shows donnot include the super opera setlist, like e.g. the tokyo show. Both shows on a 2dvd don't match a show like that. I would prefer a show like tokyo 76 released, the real thing, the real opera tour...since there is no such thing , a hammy + hyde park would be a good great alternative... |
Rick 30.05.2011 11:46 |
Hyde Park 1976 > Hammy 1975 for me. Because: Flick of The Wrist, You're My Best Friend, Sweet Lady, '39, The Prophet's Song and You Take My Breath Away. Hyde Park has five songs in total from ANATO, whereas Hammy has only one song from that album. Not counting GSTQ. |

"After recording sessions begin for a new Queen album in the summer of 1976, the band also start rehearsals for a handful of concerts in the UK. In September they play two shows in Scotland, one open air show in Wales and a massive free concert in London's Hyde Park. Due to the drought of 1976 and the poor condition of the park as a result of it, the show comes perilously close to being cancelled. It does get the go-ahead, however, and between 150,000 and 200,000 people are estimated to be in attendance at one of Queen’s single best concerts. This show, one of the many milestones in Queen's touring life, was filmed in it's entirety, but has yet to be released officially." Taken from the official Queen website. It's probably nothing, but still. |
KevoM 31.05.2011 16:22 |
I'd like to know what other non Queen performances were on the 'lost tapes'. |
The Real Wizard 01.06.2011 17:58 |
The new 1977 concert footage is from Houston - just different angles, probably from the Bob Harris footage. The film quality is different from the video screen footage, but it's definitely the same show. |
AlexRocks 02.06.2011 07:33 |
Hyde Park 1976 is one in particular that should be released with the "Hyde Park 2005 + Paul Rodgers". There should be at least one package of the early years in a venue the same as from the reunion tour. |
The Real Wizard 02.06.2011 11:16 |
Damn, that would be nice.. |
IanR 02.06.2011 15:52 |
Anyone know which studio sessions these clips were taken from? I'm guessing either the Live Killers overdubs or the early recordings that ended up on 'The Game': link link link |
