I find it really interesting at the wonderful insight on this site.Sure we argue and bicker and belittle innocent newbies when they ask a simple question. But the knowledge here about our band is amzing. To watch a 21 year old kid like greg rattle off setlists with amazing accuracy or go Bob's site and understand the precision of the Killers analysis is awesome.Queen fans are lucky to have other fans who have taken the time to research what would otherwise not be done is appreciated. Thanks to all of you who take it to the next level so we dont have to wait for GB's next effort!
I've found the most respectable replies to newbie questions are also the most respectful. For myself, I try to give the most complete answer I can, even if it's opinion.
I sometimes wonder, though, how many "newbie" questions and statements are authentic. Some seem very conveniently worded so as to illicit angry replies from regular posters. Other remarks seem to sound as if the person didn't do the most basic research. I don't know about everyone, but when I'm interested in an artist or band, I first read at least a bit about them before getting into discussions. Forums, such as Queen Zone, are by design made for the free exchange of thoughts and ideas, but I can't help but wonder how someone would feel comfortable enough to express an idea unsupported by knowledge. It's like trying to discuss a book you haven't read, but have only heard about.
I agree that for all the arguing which goes on here at times (and I'm guilty of it, too), we do tend to squeeze every last thought out of an issue, which I believe is necessary for understanding all points of view.
