With Universal getting bigger and bigger and currently just "cleaning up" Youtube, I wonder if Queen have ever understood their own musical ?
In the story they complain mainly about one big company called "Globalsoft" having control of the whole music and youth culture.
And little later they run into the open arms of "Universal", a company actually trying to become a kind of "Globalsoft".
Am I the only one seeing a big contradiction here?
You can add to that the fact that the musical slams the whole 'celebrity x factor' culture, yet then goes on to feature lots of 'reality tv / pop star' artists like Noel from Hear'Say, Rhydian, Brenda Edwards etc... who all made their 'celebrity' breaks on talent shows. I'm not saying they don't derserve it or are not good, but there are plenty of artists out there who are just as good or better that didn't breka through reality tv that they could have opted for.
Likewise Brian and Roger themselves appearing on the X Factor, Roger writing a scathing song about Rupert Murdoch but then WWRY being publicised with a free CD giveaway in The Sun.......
We can all rant about various things, but can only expect to be respected and taken seriously if we really stick to, and implement, those principles.
